  1. I'm relatively new to Muse but 2nd Law is nowhere near as good as their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th albums. Many of the songs of those three are absolutely outstanding.

    I just can't into their latest one.
  2. Your "naive" or "inexpert" point of view is not only as valid but probably more valid than ours. I mean, I've been a Muse fan for almost 5 years now - that's quite a long time. I've got deep soft spots for their older albums, specially the 2nd and the 3rd, and their newer material is just not as good - to my Muse-ized ears. But listening to all their different works with new ears like you're doing probably allows you to realize what is objectively and unbiasedly better and worse. Oh, and I personally love reading your trip through Muse, Matt Keep it coming.

    A bit fo a delayed reply....

    I think I'll have to move on to "completing" those earlier albums. As great as the "big six/seven" are from OOS, Absolution, and BH&R are, I think I need to listen to the rest of the tunes from those albums.

    I've also only listened to the the more popular four songs from Showbiz (Muscle Museum, Showbiz, Unintended, and Sunburn). I've heard it's quite mediocre after those ones. Thoughts?
  4. I think Showbiz is terribly underrated taking into account it was their debut. I love most of the album, with Fillip, Cave and Hate This as the big unknown tunes that no one but me loves
  5. Fillip is mint. It was long a favourite of mine when I first heard it.


  6. Supremacy is definitely not a "mood-less" song.

    But then again, when is there ever a time where you don't wish to listen to a song that makes you feel like James Bond?

  8. I realize that I'm supposed to be listening to other, less-popular Muse songs and that stating what I'm about to say is like telling a U2 fan that "Streets" is a great song but I got to say it again and maybe remind some of you longtime Muse fans something:

    While listening to the Glastonbury 2004 show (AGAIN!) today I was reminded what an absolutely awesome song "Plug in Baby" is. As I've already implied, I wouldn't be surprised if some fans are...bored of it but definitely not me!

    It's just great.
  9. I play it in my band and will never grow tired of it. I specially love when the audience takes over the 2nd chorus - I've lived that moment twice already and I can say it's pretty much amazing.

    We all talk about Streets, WOWY or Bad greatness every now and then - don't be ashamed
  10. Well, I guess I'm supposed to get this one...although it only contains stuff from the first two albums, the set looks absolutely fantastic. Too bad they didn't officially release the entire show.

    Can I assume the mp3 from the full show are available at muselive?
  11. Is it just me or have any of you ever noticed the similarities in the verses (not the choruses, of course) of "Stockholm Syndrome" and Radiohead's "Knives Out?"
