1. The fact that Stingray, North Star, EBW etc etc got played live makes me certain that they will never make it on to a record. The live outings was their release. Shelve and move on.
  2. I wouldn't mind the songs that were heard live on the new album in proper form. As long as they don't suck, an epic album version of Every Breaking Wave that's been made better would be incredible imo. Imagine Stingray with proper lyrics and middle and outtro? It could potentially be a glorious album opener.

As long as the album's good I'm all for it
  3. I guess we can all subscribe that last sentence!
  4. I'm not a pro or expert at releasing albums but when Rolling Stone comes with something like this, shouldn't it be close to being finished? I guess those journalists know more than we, or am I just being to hopefull right now haha?
  5. "We have an abundance of riches, we could make three or four different records and justify that to ourselves, but to make the best record you can, you have to steer away from the ones you can make easily."

That pretty much proves they're almost done.

? mmm - it may also mean they've got an abundance of sketches of songs... but I think the album really is being mixed. Rumours so far sound promising - U2 have something to prove after the half flop of NLOTH; I'm sure they'll leave up to at least some expectations.
  7. I wouldn't be so sure; I mean I think there is a reason these songs were not able to be voted on for U22 and Edge's picks!

That quote is at least 3 months old

  9. All the more reason to believe that the album is nearing completion, right?
