1. F*ck the World Cup, it's only worth for their concert!
  2. Not a dumb move if it is true.
  3. This has been said a thousand times already, but...

Fuck relevance. Make the music you want and the music you want to perform onstage and fuck relevance.

    Oh well ¬¬
  4. I don't get this band anymore. Release the music! Fuck relevance! Look at what is relevant in today's music. Billy Ray Cyrus's daughter molesting Jason Seaver's son with a giant Mickey Mouse finger at the VMA and that is what this band is up wants to compete with??

The problem is, if they don't feel relevant they won't make the music. I don't know why they are like that, but it's true.

    That's funny !
  7. If this rumor is to be believed and prior rumors regarding the album are to be believed, I think they are simply holding the release of the album until 2014 and that the music itself is actually finished, minus maybe a small bit of final editing. The only reason I see them doing this is that they are already deep into the planning phases of their next tour. I can see them releasing the new album, then going on tour for it almost immediately. Their live act is essentially the gold standard for all live acts to follow, so if "relevance" was their concern, the easiest way for U2 to boost themselves world above the rest is to let the new album hype be carried by a new tour.
  8. ^^I actually thought about this, most of the time whenever we have an album out in the fall, we have to wait about 5-7 months before a proper tour meaning that a lot of time passes by before anyone gets to see them properly. i can see the new songs being better received live if they release it and tour about three months later.

Still infuriating there is literally so many great artists and bands releasing this year and its going to be a year for the ages in regards to music. U2 could have been the icing on the cake -______-

I agree. I've gotten releases from many of my favorite artists (never dreamed that JT would put out an album let alone two!!) and I was really hoping for a new U2 record; but I guess I can understand holding off with so many big releases. I would prefer it if they were of the mindset of "Fuck everybody else, we've got the album of the year."
