1. Do people not realize that Bono is doing what Bono has always done? For him activism is just as important as media relevance. If Bono wasn't able to poke a politicians and charge up the crowd behind a political cause, Bono wouldn't even bother performing. If anything, the fact that Bono is showing up, talking about the AIDS fight and other human rights stuff means he's transitioning out of a "dormant" phase and returning to his more publicly viewed self. If you step back and look at his comments, you'll see that U2 is just about ready to release their new album.

  2. THIS. This is the most important thing I've been saying that they need to realize. It's like saying I'm going to lose weight and not change my diet, it's just NOT GOING TO WORK.
  3. Good arguments overall. Still gotta love seeing him, anyway. I mean, I'm no "talibono" but I just love when he drops by and gets some screen minutes to freely speak about whatever he likes - not just a dedicated speech about something.

Regarding the album, I'm still in the same position I decided to take some weeks ago. I just don't care, they will release it whenever they, their management and Universal feel like releasing it. And what we discuss here won't change a thing, so why bothering and suffering?
  4. On the other hand, I want this. And I want it now. And I'm suffering.

  5. And on another matter, last night Bono paid a visit to the New African Center in NY:

  6. another unoriginal Bono by numbers interview. We've heard it all before, 'very good' is the enemy of great, blah, blah, blah, and U2.com pushing it on us like it's something new. If the new music is as uninspired as the same ol', same ol' that we hear in every interview, then forget about another classic album.

    Wise words

Yet every time there is a new post in this threat, I run to read and see whether anything has happened...

Blind and deaf is the way to go!

I won't go blind nor deaf due to my "duties", if you get me... But yeah, I just don't get my hopes high ANYMORE. It will come when it'll come, and there's nothing I can do about - except stop suffering
  9. After that interview I'm convinced : there isn't a new record atm nor will there be one in the near future...
Now I just hope they didn't stop trying.
  10. R.I.P. U2

Indeed, I get you - but yes, I guess we need to lower expectations and take it easy for a while...

I still have a good feeling / like I know how I'm feeling / scraping me off the ceiling...
