1. I definitely hear the M83 influence in there (obviously because he produced it) and that makes it sound different to my hears, so I like it a decent amount. I don't like it with excitement though, can't tell if that's because it's for a greatest hits and it's not their next big single, or if it's because it's nothing THAT new from them. I like it, but I'm not super hyped about it.

I would love to hear an entire album produced by M83 though. I know some of you don't like that 80's sound, but I could never get tired of it. Especially that guitar sound and the processed drums and stuff, love it.

But I agree Sergio, some of that Indie rawness would be nice. If only they could fuse the two....(without sounding like Day & Age - not a huge fan of that album - mostly lyrically though).
  2. Is it me or the new Keane song sounds a lot like The Killers (including the vocals)??

  3. Lmao wow it does...
  4. Just like their whole last album. And both bands are becoming boring.

It's a good song but it's not really all that different to anything off Day and Age, as I heard it I got a definite "I've heard this from them before" feeling. Not that it's a bad thing, I really like the song and video, but it's kind of same ol' same ol' from them. Wish they would expand their sound a bit imo, but I bet if I saw them live again and they played this I'd still be singing along and loving it

It's very possible that this song could have been leftover from one of those sessions and they figured they had the time to go back, polish it up, and release it. If so, it would make sense that it would sound like their previous albums.

And if this is true, I think U2 should take note and release the 3 to 4 albums worth of leftover songs.
  6. sweet, no qualms from me. i loved flamingo.

  7. Exactly....My opinion of this band is constantly going down hill. I dont mind bands changing their sound (I love KOL new album and PJ newest album which are both very diff from their earlier work) but im getting fed up with the killers. Boring setlists and they are stuck in a boring sound. I also feel this way about Muse which have been at a steady decline for a while now. The 2nd law and Battleborn are 2 of the most disappointing albums for me. They were both highly anticipated for me. Rant over lol. I still think Sams Town and Absolution are 2 of the best albums ever.
  8. WHHHHYYYYYYYYY, ffs why the hell would he do that

^ IMO Battleborn is amazing, although I agree with the Muse bit.
  9. They aren't comparable bands or albums at all. Battle Born was a pretty good album but it's got sort of a boring/decadent sound&feel to it, something I can't really put my finger on. The 2nd Law was the opposite, a shit album but with a really original, fresh mix of sounds. Both things aren't neccesarely good or bad, but you get my point.

In all honestly (and I sincerely hope to be proved wrong), I think this piece of news might mark the end of The Killers.
  10. the greatest hits thing worried me a bit; it seemed a bit unnecessary at this point if (as they say) they're going to be around for some time yet.

The greatest hits could have been just a commercial move... But the greatest hits PLUS the news of a new Brandon solo album...
