On the state of the disc recording and its upcoming release:

"We're still in it, we are almost finished and the album should be out early next year [2014]"

About the sound of the new album:

"It's kind of a return to the old U2, but U2 maturity of the last 10 years ... an interesting combination"

Have also confirmed that Adam will have 12 new songs and that they intend to have them completed by the end of November and enjoy Christmas.

Well if that's true I can see them polishing up one song before the rest to have out as the new lead single before they finish the rest up
  2. Adam contradicting Larry, huh hoh... FIGHT!! hahaa

It's always nice to have someone who's not Bono speaking about the album.
  3. Old U2 Flare but with 2000s U2 Maturity. I sure hope they add a bit of Dangermouse experimenting to top it all off.
  4. Assuming it goes out in Februarly like NLOTH, it means we'll have 12 songs after 5 years...

That means one song each 5 months.

Zooropa was all done in something like 5 months.

Oh well, I will stop with it

You musn't count the years they were on tour though...
And yes I know Zooropa was recorded during a tour, but now they haven't so it's more like 2,5 years...
  6. what does he mean with old u2?

  7. I guess pre-Achtung Baby U2... But who knows. Everything is punk rock from Venus after all.
  8. pre-AB is not the way to go. That sounds like HTDAAB.

  9. That's exactly what I think Adam's words describe. The same "comeback sound" that HTDAAB meant in its moment.
  10. Maybe they sound like Boy. Punk sound from U2, blues and indie rrom Dangermouse.
  11. My guess as well -- old U2: the basic Post-Punk, Edge Explorer textured adolescence of Boy, the similar sounding and softer October with some expansions (piano, flute whistle, etc), and the muscular assertiveness of War.
