1. First note that this is NOT a rumor or fact or anything, just a question about a thought of mine.

I think the 360°-stages hasn't been sold yet (correct me if I'm wrong, I don't find any article about it anyway).
So, if they still have the stages, could they maybe want to tour with it again ?

    CON :
    - It's the same stage ; we've seen it already. Booorrriingg. So maybe/probably quite a drop in attendants.

    - Such a gigantic tour might become too exhausting for the band at this age.

    PRO :
    - It was just f*cking awesome though. And maybe if they just use the same steel construction with other "decorations", it can still feel quite different.
If you've seen all the sketches, there were quite some possibilities... Also with a new set / videos / laser and lightshows...
Actually, In general, I just always felt that the stage hasn't been explored and used in its full capacities. I really somehow feel they can do more with it.

    - This is probably a strange argument, but with the loss of Mark Fisher, it will be quite hard to find a whole new stage that's interesting for the band. And almost impossible to top the 360° stage. If they'd want that of course.

    - *McGuinness speaking* recycling = less costs than creating a new stage.

So, my sentiment says you can't perform with the same stage.
BUT, if you look at smaller bands (indoor), the stages don't differentiate much. After all it's the music that counts and we're spoiled by U2 if it comes to stages. So well, I actually might enjoy a 360° part 2...

    What do you think ?
  2. I hope that they definitely do not do this, and that they tour arenas again. But alas, I think they really have outgrown arenas and as such, if they were to do a solely arena based tour, it would be years long. Just thinking about the 360 tour over here in my city, Brisbane, they had about 100,000 people at the two shows. If they were to get even 75-80,000 people through their doors, they'd need to do five or six nights at the largest arena in the state (12-15,000 people max).

I unfortunately don't think they can tour solely arenas anymore, but I hope I'm wrong.

With regards to the stage, it would actually disgust me if they toured with it again. Just grab a stage like most other bands have, with nothing on it, plonk it down somewhere and play the music
  3. Well thought and argumented topic, Glenn... But I think it's out of the question. They would never tour with the same stage, even more, with the stage that has brought them the biggest gross of any music tour ever. Nah, no way. Even if they end up contradicting themselves, and they do stadiums again instead of the arenas they promised, they would never try to equal or top the 360 stage/tour setup.
  4. On an unrelated note, Stay the album version is so beautiful and perfect! Lately whenever people ask me to make them mix CD's, even if I include loud rock and dance music, Stay is ALWAYS put Stay in the middle as the centerpiece. just such a perfect track that we should never take for granted you guys!

    Amen.
  6. I've always highly rated the studio version of 'Stay' as well.
  7. I think Stay is one of those rare U2 that is just so perfect unlike their public persona. It can really change the perception of people who think U2 only make songs like Vertigo Beautiful Day and The Fly.
  8. Ok, case closed then
  9. Cedars of Lebanon is stunning too! I only ever hear that song in the winter and fall haha, another person song imo
  10. I wish guys filmed something like "A day in the life of The Edge" again. It was so funny
