1. It's a very smart idea to promote it, purely by putting up posters of your alias and getting your fans to post that they are playing these gigs on social networks. I imagine that these shows aren't the only ones they are doing, they are bound to play London.

Before I go to uni on Friday, I'll be sitting at my computer at 9 eagerly attempting to obtain tickets.

Meanwhile, this is what the poster looks like.

  2. Formal costume mandatory Heroes.
  3. Quite like it so far, a very slight improvement on the last album but no where near their first two. Agreed that it's overdrawn and over-produced in parts (you can see James Murphy's work in lengthening the songs here). Don't think it applies to the title track though - just a beautifully grand song.

The Jonathon Ross intro for 'You Already Know' is quite odd since it came from the night Win Butler, furious at apparently having to sit with the other celebrities, smashes a camera & storms off.

Funny but doesn't do his reputation as one of the biggest pricks on the music circuit any good...

Chassagne has said that her earliest and most stirring musical memories were "listening to [her] neighbor's music, the sounds coming through the walls" and then trying to replicate them on piano; in the same interview, the Texas-born Butler spoke similarly about U2's (much maligned) Pop Mart tour.
  5. Album of the year, definitely.
  6. I won't go so far as to say album of the year, at least not at this point...the album sort of doesn't know what it wants to be. The two halves are cohesive in themselves, but as a whole work I don't really understand it yet. It'll be a grower, for sure. I think there were too many ideas being kicked around when they put this together, though.

It's in the top 5 for me at the moment.
  7. Agree with Matt, and I'm definitely going to enjoy listening to this over and over again. Will buy it physically tomorrow I'm pumped!
  8. As a matter of interest (if slightly off-topic), what other albums from 2013 would you recommend?

Not including Reflektor the best 5 I've listened to so far would probably be:
    John Grant Pale Green Ghosts
    Baths Obsidian
Nick Cave & TBS Push The Sky Away
Steve Mason Monkey Minds In The Devil's Time
    Junip Junip

Any recommendations would be much appreciated
  9. Just got Ireland v Australia rugby tickets for the same weekend as the Glasgow Reflektor gigs. I'll have to wait until tour time. Looking forward to buying the album tomorrow.

Sorry for the offtopicness but where's the match happening, Dublin?

Maybe you can drop by Blackpool?
  11. Does anyone know if it possible to watch the whole video anywhere I missed it over the weekend thanks Dave

  12. I didn't know they had removed the movie/album teaser from their YT account. I have searched for it but nobody else seems to have it available to stream anymore, so I think you should be hunting for a download link (it's on Pirate Bay and other torrent sites).
