1. Oddly enough, this Oasis tribute band does a pretty good job - at least my foggy memory tells me so.

  2. Hahaha
Well, I got a story to tell about that. I was asked to go up onstage on a U2 tribute last year, the singer noticed my passion and took me onstage for a song and a half (the end of Vertigo and all of Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses). He had me a beer after the show finished also

I will stop with the rant. Kieran, I get your point too, of course. What would have been of U2 without the loads and loads of audience that saw them during the late 70s, early 80s without knowing them? Yeah, I'm with you on that. But as a way of gathering with your U2 fellas and listening to some of your favs live (not iTunes), tribute acts are fantastic.

That being said, I would never attend an Oasis tribute. Oasis are Oasis not only because of their music (which at the end of the day isn't really mindblowing - although I adore them), but because of their look and attitude as well - two things that don't come across on tribute acts.

I guess I'm alone on this

PS. Sorry for the offtopicness, but... Ronnie... Close your eyes and just listen...
  3. sorry for the offtopicness hehe and sorry Sergio but even though they don't "fuck up" the songs, they're good indeed, also with the eyes closed i can't feel Gilmour (the start of the Another Brick solo is one the thing i love most in music); i can't feel Wright either
maybe it's prejudice who knows but this can't change my mind
  4. Of course, the "soul" isn't there, but I have blind-tested three friends who are PF fans, played them that same recording of Shine On You Crazy Diamond, and another one of PF live, and none of them were able to guess which was which. One of them wild guessed it right, the other 2 wrong. They are GREAT

And I will leave the discussion coming back on topic... Which Oasis song do you think is the most underplayed and underrated?
  5. Let's All Make Believe

I didn't even know it existed until Matt pointed me in the right direction!

But it's a B-side, so we shall not count it. It's so difficult to pick an album track though. Standing On The Shoulder of Giants perhaps doesn't get the same attention as the others and I really love the last few tracks from that album (Where Did It All Go Wrong?, Sunday Morning Call, Roll It Over)
  6. Roll It Over is the only one I'd point as an underrated song.

Avoiding B-sides, I would choose Stand By Me. I plain love it, the lyrics, the music, the title, everything. They stopped playing it in 2001
  7. I just love Be Here Now in it's entirety, so Stand By Me is very much played and rated

Don't Go Away is probably my favourite from that album.
  8. Don't Go Away is fantastic as well I mean underplayed by the band, not by us
  9. In that case, they're all underplayed by the band
  10. Roll it Over is definitely a great but underrated Oasis song as is Let's All Make a Believe. Stand by Me (best Oasis video) and Don't Go Away (love the SNL performance from the late-nineties) are two of my favourites from any album - way better than the other two 'hits' from Be Here Now, IMHO.

Some other solid but underrated Oasis tunes: A Bell Will Ring (from Don't Believe The Truth) and Bag It Up (opening track from Dig Out Your Soul - which, baffling enough, was never played live!)

Don't Go Away is probably my favourite from that album.

Also love the live version of SBM from Familiar To Millions.
  12. 20 years ago today, on 19th December 1993 Oasis’s debut single Supersonic was recorded at The Pink Museum Studios in Liverpool during a three-day session. The version heard on the album and single was the rough mix done on the day. The song was never re-recorded.
