1. I was just really disappointed with some of the songs on Pop. It was such a mixed bag of things that I will say that Ordinary Love ranks higher than the average value of Pop. (Miami really brings it down, just saying)

    Don't forget The Playboy Mansion

But Pop was risky, Ordinary Love is playing it (very) safe, so imo it's not comparable.

I will agree with you and say that Miami sucks, and that I think it is the worst song the band have ever released or played. But man, I love the rest of Pop. It is a jewel of an album.
  4. Pop is amazing, bold.

I wish they were half as bold as they were with Pop.

But I don´t find Ordinary Love so 00´s... Even though some elements of this era are there... In my opinion, it reminds me more of the early to mid 80´s U2! A fusion between Gloria and Wave of Sorrow!
  5. No Album and followed Tour impressed me like POP(MART)!

Nope, Miami isn't that bad as people think. And you're wrong about it being the worst song U2 have released; that goes to Red Light.

I dunno, I'd at least define Red Light as a "song", Miami I'm not so sure. I'd consider myself in the same boat and say it's one of if not the worst song they've put out.

Maybe it beats Wild Honey in originality...
  8. I quite like Miami. Great risk.
You want a bad song you have most of the second half of ATYCLB to choose from
  9. Hey, wasn't this supposed to be a thread on the new album?! (No new album, no real news, I know...)
  10. Standing back waiting to give my 'opinion'....

Miami brings it up a hundred notches. It's that good.

    As is The Playboy Mansion.

+100000000. But I can't count out Wild Honey and When I Look At The World.

Nothing like a great horn section. Worst U2 song ever...Elevation for me.

Back to the topic...Ordinary Love. Ordinary song, still a decent build-up. I'd listen to 'This Is' over Ordinary Love.
  11. Is Red Light being bad a popular opinion? I've always really liked it! :x

Also: Just listened to Ordinary Love. I think it's great. Not as good as the best songs on Pop, but good.

Also also: I'm not a big fan of Miami or PBM. I feel like Pop would be one of U2's best overall if it weren't for those two tracks.
  12. Worst song is Stuck in a moment... Miami and Red Light are far better
