I wasn't as drunk as I thought I would be last night, I apologize for coming up short on my promise... my girlfriend on the other hand could have written a book in this thread last night
Witty, in many ways charming, but ultimately a culture in need a radical overhaul.
Historically Irish people have continuously f***ed themselves over for the sight of money (you might say this of all people, but it hasn't consistently had the detrimental effect it has had on Ireland), and ironically they hate those that do it openly, despite it being a cultural thing.
What do I mean? One of the main issues Ireland was concerned about with the loss of sovereignty was that it might affect it's ability to bring in business from foreign countries. France, in particular, has argued for a consistent corporate tax across the EU. And well it might, such a thing would benefit larger economies.
Here's the funny thing though - Irish people are particularly spiteful of one band in particular because their company holdings are registered in the Netherlands in a bid to avoid paying more tax. Happy when it suits them, but when one of their own does it...
As an aside from where I'm studying Irish people really seem to overestimate their popularity and likeability, though this seems to be a regular thing amongst a lot of European countries.... thoughts..?
I would disagree with the last paragraph. Most Irish folk I know seem to know that they are adored by those of other nationalities. Just look at how they are loved at sporting events held in other countries. I know when I'm on holiday that people become a lot more receptive to me when they know where I'm from.
Dont think i've ever come on the net blind drunk in my life, if I did I probably would have damaged my pc lol. Off to sleep I go now, busy tomorrow so happy drinking.
