1. weird how all of a sudden long lost videos show up... over on the u2collectormania facebook page this video was shared about a month a go. and now here!! agree.. great vid.

  2. One of the many reasons that tour remains my all time number one by the band, just brilliant

  3. Years go by and likes change, but 01-10 Rotterdam remains as one of my favorite U2 shows ever. Insane performances of many songs. Best Desire+Watchtower combo ever. Not one of the best Bads out there but still fantastic. All in all a truly outstanding gig - possibly my Lovetown fav together with 89-12-30 Dublin.

  4. I know what you mean! this is now a totally different era, and Bono's voice has changed a lot.

But then again, as much a I loved Bad in Rotterdam in July 1987, I also still loved hearing Bad in the Brussels in 2010. Different, but still poignant.
  5. I had an interesting encounter today. I was so excited about Invisible that I just started telling about it to this guy at the uni, I had no idea if he had even heard of U2, but he's around 35-40 years old.
So I tell him do you know U2? He says yes, and I tell him about the song. He wasn't that excited, definitely not a big fan, but he tells me: "Yea, I've heard of those guys, their best album was Pop!"

And that's what was interesting to me. I can see Pop being considered their best in some aspects, but I'm a big fan of theirs and have studied the album up and down like a 1000 times. Had never seen a non-U2er consider that album acceptable, not to mention their best!!

Just had to tell someone about this
  6. WOW, that's amazing! I've never heard that either! The only thing I've encountered is a friend I know likes Discotheque A LOT, like more than the "classics". Probably the riff and swagger ahah

Haha, I see what you mean
I know someone who is totally into Jazz, plays in a band and all. He thinks U2 is utterly crap, except for Zooropa, the only U2-album he ever bought. He admits to play it regularly, thinks it's a masterpiece, especially The First Time. People and their tastes huh
  8. please someone remind mr David Howell Evans he made a documentary with Jimmy Page and Jack White
  9. It Might Get Loud.
  10. last night.... oh no, wait, the night before.....when half the world was glued to their tvs watching the Super Bowl.... except me.... I sat on my bed and listlistened to Invisible for the very first time... and it took me to a place somewhere else... and yes it "lifted the roof"... and it was so intense in a way only U2 can touch me.... and there I was..... thinking.... what is it with U2 that after all these years, after all these albums and tours and documentaries and meeting them and being close to all of them in front row and after all and everything they have done and reached..... they still are able to touch me this way, I wonder..... a specialty..... like..... this morning, folks, I sat there at the breakfast table, and we had the local radio playing in the background, and I ´´in the middle of a conversation with my friend and family I noticed the first tunes of Ordinary Love and I jumped up like woah and turned it up loud Captain and began to dance (in my own silly limited way, oh shame ) and sang along..... and my friend told me afterwards he hadn't seen such a silly happy grin on someone's face in a long time it's only U2 who do that to me...... and to get to the title of this topic...... I think.... why is that.... a mystery.... I will never know, haha, but may it stay like this forever
