    Yes I did... It took me at least 15 minutes to remove small pieces of rubber, rocks and sand from my hair later on that day, but the experience of being blown away by a big and hot jet engine is mindblowing!

    I wasn't expecting to be hit by the engine blast when I recorded this video. After that, I decided to "ride" the fence right behind an Boeing 757, but I let my camera in my bag. This proved to be a good decision.

  6. It's still "today" in California and everything to the West until Hawaii, so here I am, fulfilling my promise

    I live 15 kms by Madrid's main airport. In fact, my small village is just behind where planes line up for the final north>south approximation before landing (Aidan might know the exact term, I doubt "approximation" is very technical) on the evenings and at night (they approximate north-east > south-west on the mornings). That makes up for some amazing photos like the first one (Nikon Coolpix P7100, exposure: 50 seconds, aperture: f/4.0, ISO 100). I've edited one of them but I post the original too. The rest of them are just as they came out from the camera (I didn't even crop them, although it's much needed in some of them).

    And well, I got inspired by the conversation with Tim about the ISS the other day, so I looked for the next times it was going to pass over here and I went on the hunt for some pics... They turned out better than expected

    I think the cultural difference between Sint Maarten and the mainland are as big as between the mainland and Brasil Its just part of the kingdom due to historic reasons.

    But I am happy to hear you enjoyed your time

    Hahaha Alexandra!! There are several DeLoreans that fly over our heads every now and then. I'll see if I can spot Marty McFly and take a pic or something.


    Thanks Chris! We're actually 30 km (45 kms by road) away from the main city But yeah, I'm pretty happy with the results. Seeing the ISS flying slooooowwly over your head (much slower than a plane at mid height) while it's actually travelling at EIGHT DAMN KILOMETERS PER SECOND on space is mingblowing, I felt really lucky to see it. And there's a moment when the ISS stops reflecting sunlight and it just disappears from your sight (it's there in the edited photo, the station simply disappeared). Magic.

    I can imagine that. But I was able to chat with people who live in the island and also with a couple of guys who live in Amsterdam, and I couldn't had a better feeling about them

    Also, they told me Amsterdam is s great place to walk in the streets and take some photos. Is this true?
