  1. Same old story... I fear Invisible and OL will be like HTBA, Elec Storm, Windows, Hold Me, Ground Beneath, etc. Keep us warm so we don't forget them, album to follow almost a year later... March 2015 it is then, Oct at the earliest.

  3. It's depressing to realize all Bono's statements on the new album(s) are getting less and less credible.


  4. Songs of Ascent was supposed to be what Amnesiac was to Kid A - a quick follow up...two albums recorded at the same time but one worked on as a follow up. My feeling was that Songs of Ascent would have been a better album than NLOTH - seemed SoA was more cohesive and daring.

    Alas, we'll never know

  8. I actually have no issue with that when he puts it that way. Go Crazy is a perfect example of that.

    Take into consideration that they apparently already have tour dates booked for later this year, so the album is coming out soon. Yes it sucks it's taken so long, but at the same time I want the best U2 has to give, and if they don't deem it ready, then I don't want to hear it. Say what you will about U2 over-working songs, but I'm in the camp that think Pop sounds unfinished, and I want a finished album.
  9. With Coldplay releasing in may I wouldn't be suprised if a U2 album will be after the summer. I think they are afraid of the competition.

    Someone is releasing album all year... if they were afraid of competition, they wouldn't release it ever.
  11. It's just ridiculous that a band with nearly 30 years of experience in song-writing, recording etc. have such difficulties in recording/writing a new album.

    With the stories of the last couple of years in my mind, it feels like they're just starting and are feeling very (hate the word) insecure.

    Maybe it would be better if they just shut up and release the thing quite suddenly, like Coldplay now does.

    "We are shit-scared to take any risks whatsoever, so we are going to polish and overproduce this album and then polish and overproduce it again this year, until we can be absolutely sure that the album is an ultra-safe mainstream bet. Oh, and did I mention that we don't want to take any risks? Spontaneity? rock-and-roll? God no, that takes us way to far out of our comfortzone! Just don't expect it anytime soon, we don't feel up to it yet! Edge, please close the studiodoors, somebody might watch us..... "
