I vote for non-English albums as well. Hardly listen to music in Swedish at all though, pretty much all the Swedish artists make their music in English...

So, dEUS. I'm a fan of this guys. They played a 2-days festival I attended in 2012, so I started listening to them more or less 2 years ago by now. I know mostly all of their songs, and I like most of them. As I mentioned earlier, this album -despite its commercial success- is the one which I haven't heard a song from live. I hope that can change soon

dEUS - Pocket Revolution

1. Bad Timing - that CRESCENDO! From a plain wall of synths to a full band, hard-rock middle part... Opening an album with a 7 min piece is bold, no doubt about it. Bravo! Even if I wasn't a fan of the band, I would be impressed by this. Great song, great opening.
2. 7 Days, 7 Weeks - the quiet after the storm. Not my favorite track on the album, but a good example of their quieter work.
3. Stop-Start Nature - not a fan of this one personally, too industrial and dissonant at times for my taste. They have a lot of songs on this same style, but this one is one of my least favs. It can/will grow though. I love the spoken, middle part. Some vocal melodies remind me of "Ghosts" which is a good thing since it's my fav song of theirs.
4. If You Don't Get What You Want - melikes. Standard song in their standard style, so nothing wrong about it.
5. What We Talk About (when we talk about love) - it never clicked on me - still hasn't. I like the tambourine and the very AchtungBaby-esque sound of it (something we can say about most of their songs anyway), but it just doesn't connect with me properly.
6. Include Me Out - I like this one from start to end. Lovely song, great lyrics. Amazing production, gotta love the overalatmosphere
7. Pocket Revolution - the title song is the quieter one at the start, then the dynamics blow your head at 02:00, as the lyrics warn you to lower the volume

"I should have listened to the warning"... Blues-ish, shouted chorus go along fine with the louder parts. I love the small descending guitar solo at 4:45, it sounds totally like The Edge to me, which is obviously great!

8. Nightshopping - another one I can't properly enjoy, don't know exactly why. I like the guitar breaks at 01:18 and 02:45, but nothing else really.
9. Cold Sun Of Circumstance - I like the Radiohead-ish sound and dissonance at the start. I can't say why, but I enjoy this one a lot, even if it isn't the kind of song that I like the most from them! I like that bonus bit at the end, even though it would be better if left instrumental.
10. The Real Sugar - one of my favs from the album. That bossa nova atmosphere at the start...

Really sensual, suggestive song. I could play this one on repeat all evening while overlooking a white-sand beach with some good company and maybe a mojito or a cold beer... Does it suggest the same to you?

11. Sun Ra - not my cup of tea. At all. Sorry xD I will delete it from future listens of the album.
12. Nothing Really Ends - As you might have guessed by now, I'm a fan of their softer stuff, so I love this one. Very nice ending for the album.

PS. As an added bonus, the album cover reminds me of Passengers

Summary: I liked it a lot already, and my opinion hasn't changed. Nice mix of their more industrial, harder stuff and their softer side. It doesn't top some of their other albums which I prefer, but it's a great one anyway. 8/10.

Catastrophe just happened with my Dandy Warhols review. First off, I was away for the weekend in a non-WiFi, even mobile internet, zone, hence why I haven't posted my review. Secondly, I know I should have maybe saved it but I lost my comprehensive review of the album after accidentally performing a function while typing. If anybody has an Acer Aspire 5750, you'll know that the touchpad is placed in an awkward position making it difficult to type without touching the pad; so I have performed some function that has made the page go back twice and I have lost the review.

To summarise what it said in it: I have never taken time to appreciate or thoroughly listen to Dandy Warhols' back-catalogue; however this album pushed some buttons. I think the intro was pointless and the album should have just ripped right into 'We Used To Be Friends' – a song I was familiar with as a 9-year-old when it was on FIFA 2004 or 2005. I was also accustomed to 'The Last High' and 'Plan A', as well as 'Scientist' which was from a British TV show called 'Brainiac'. I found the first half incredibly exciting with a blend of fresh, dynamic sounds. The second half wasn't as enthralling but still featured some unique and vibrant melodies here and there. This album has opened a door for me: I'm going to purchase this album and delve into some more of The Dandy Warhols. This album, and the album before, has made me wonder how the band weren't more well-known.

I'm going to listen to this dEUS album tomorrow and review it asap before I head off to Brighton on Thursday. Make that a promise.

Nice review, Sergio. I've got some different opinions and will post my review later. But must agree with Bad Timin. It's one of their best, probably top 5 song.

Yeah, juding by your Muse tastes, I suppose you'll be a fan of their harder, more industrial stuff

No prob about it, I can see why one would like that stuff!

Not neccessarily harder, but more interesting for me. I'm on alternative wave last months

After a couple of listenings, I can say the album is really good! That first song got stucked in my mind.

I'm going to listening a few more times to give it a proper review
