  5. So, just had my first listen of the entire album. I am really impressed! Way to go U2.

    Bono's voice: +++
    Lyrics: +++
    The rhythm/pace of the songs: +++
    Experimenting U2: +++

    There are obviously some tracks that need to grow (Cedarwood Road, Iris). Favourite after a first listen is Every Breaking Wave, and Troubles is just wonderful. I would vote for Troubles to be the first single actually!

  10. Agree with Remy here. Just been through my first listen, on headphones. It completely surprised me. It's the most mature album since Zooropa or perhaps Pop. A very good set of songs with some instant favourites like Cedarwood, Every Breaking Wave and The Troubles.

    Was very surprised by the overall arrangement and Bono's vocal performance. Really very good and tight. He hasn't been this good since Zooropa, I dare to say.

    Also good to hear that besides the electronic sounds and whistles Larry isn't making use of an electronic drumkit. A blessing compared to NLOTH and even the more recent Invisible.

    Gonna listen to it on the stereo-set tomorrow, but after first listen I'd say two things: Bring on the tour and bring on Songs of Experience!
  11. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT !!!!!

    it is 1am here in good old Germany, I lie in my bed, with a bad mood coz the day was a crap one, and there is my tv on, and the general after-midnight news come up......and there they say it, new iphones by Apple blabla --- and the new U2 album for free right now!!!! Good Lord, thia old fat lady jumped from her bed and pushed the laptop to ddownload the jewel...... my first listen has now begun, I chose Raised by wolves. I AM BLOWN AWAY.

    this is gonna be a short night. so happy. thank u, U2. my life has a sense after all. happy me
