1. My gf kinda (totally) blew this for me, as she broke up with me on that day. So a memorable day indeed.
Anyway, listened sometimes to it in my car on and from my way to work and I think it's total rubbish. Sorry.

But kudos to them for keeping it a secret for so long and suddenly totally release it AND give it for free.
  2. Btw the duh-duh-duh-duh-duuuh parts right before the choruses of Every Breaking Wave and Troubles are frankly the same. That's how lame this is.

Sorry to hear that! That's not a good day.

I don't think any music you would hear on such a day would make you happy to be honest though
  4. Anway, you guys seem to enjoy it.
I hope it's not just enthusiasm and really because of the music then.
Personally I fear this is the end of U2's big name and relevance. I hope I'm wrong as I still love this band a LOT and WANT them to do good. But I've read a dozen of reviews so far and most of them also butcher it. Maybe I'll change my mind.
  5. Apple are just like Apple. Loved and admired by those who love and admire them but absolutely loathed by everyone else, and not just by those who dislike them. People who have no desire to own apple products or U2 music are very vocal in their hate for both. Pretty bizzare but that's how it is.

U2 shouldn't bother forcing themselves onto those people.

Hmm yeah you've got a point. 5 years of waiting for this and then on THE day she does it.

Ok I'm gonna stop posting the negative vibes. I REALLY am glad to see most of you totally love it. I hope you'll keep loving it. Please enjoy these glorious moments. I'll probably turn around within a few weeks.

Oh and : congrats to the crew for the new version of the site

Sorry to hear about your ex-girlfriend now. Like Remy says, even the most happy music wouldn't make me happy then. I would even consider not to listen to U2. NLOTH came out when a girlfriend and I realised it wouldn't work as we expected. Some songs on NLOTH still remind me to that period.

Anyway, what review did you read? Because the most respected (international) media seem to like it. Both De Telegraaf and Algemeen Dagblad here give it 4/5 too. Although there is some discussion about the iTunes thing. They expect 'disappointing' sales when the album officialy hits the charts in 4 weeks, because of the give-away.
  10. Don't know how it is around the rest of the world, but U2 has 15 albums in the top 200 itunes New Zealand, and their worldwide ranking is
number one - relevant, hell yes!!!!

    Check out their performance here:

  11. after 2, 3rd listen I am completely hyped. Guess I was to tired earlier on. Great, triumphant, relevant album. Every song sounds urgent and big
  12. Anybody else think that Bono could be a bit higher in the mix for some songs? I've my EQ off and sometimes it sounds like he's a bit lost in it.
