    For me the song refers to stepping (back) in leadership of your life and taking responsibility for it. That's what "somebody stepped inside your soul" means to me. I feel a strong connection to WOWY "and you give yourself away... and you give and you give"

    Zombies (somebody stept inside your soul - to plain straightforward for me), violence, bloodshed do no good for the song. The song does good for the series, I can see that. Not sure if it will support the perspective new fans will develop about U2 or the song

    I see your point, but I can also see the the song working in relation to Rick. He is a reluctant leader with a "will for survival" who feels compassion for the people under his watch.
    These people have slowly worked their way into his life/soul "little by little", which is the central conflict for the character as he is trying not to care.
  2. I think the song just sounds very cool in the trailer. Not everyone listens to the lyrics so carefully - especially the ones that don't even know the band playing in the trailer.

    But I understand that we like to analyze the song and the lyrics and how it all fits in the trailer!

    All in all it's great exposure!

    To obvious for me. The connection is plain, straightforward and not an artistic contribution. "Painting red on red"

    The song does work for the show images and storyline, but the show doesn't work for the song. It is a one way match. The song has different intentions then refering to zombies
