Just watched EBW. Great work from lads. Best promo version to date. Nice and measured from Bono and in great voice too. The middle eight does teeter near the brink at times, but he pulls it off. Never thought I'd ever see them on Jools, but they didn't let the side down at all. Looking forward to California on Friday. Perhaps they might even close out the show with a classic on Friday. I recall REM finishing out the show with WTF Kenneth? back in the day when they were promoting one of their later lesser albums.
Very interesting how they're playing a variety of the songs…I remember they played Breathe a lot on the NLOTH promo tour, but I don't think they played such a variety of songs. Hmmm.
wowowow!! just watched volcano, that one was GREAT! it looks like it's a demanding song on bono's voice, but he was spot on the whole time. REALLY enjoyed it, what a bass!
Immediately it struck me that Volcano is that little playful song like, say, Elevation, that achieves a little lift off during a gig. Of course it is much better than Elevation
Wow that was a surprisingly good performance. Volcano might be my least favourite song of the album but live it works really well. Thumbs up for this one. EBW semi full band with the string quartet and in particular Bono's voice in a good state blew me away.
also listened to EBW now, solid performance. voice steady, no hiccups as far as I am concerned. bono finally goes with the flow of the song instead of trying to be faster than it is
This just happened this morning. I always choose random cakes and sweets for breakfast, and a "Volcano" was chosen today. Together with a London mug. Nie coincidence. Sorry for the oddness haha
