1. he looks really good, much better than the other pics, but sad in the face of course
  2. Regarding the talk of "tired classics"..

I must be one of the few hardcore U2 fans who still expects to see Pride and SBS when I go see U2 and would be disappointed not to hear them.
  3. hopefully they play the detroit medley

If you ask me i prefer no medley ...just new songs all the time or some songs they usually don t play. but for sure they will play this classics , so give them a new life

No, I DO get the point, but I think medley's are a bad solution. Or actually, no solution at all.

The initial point was : a medley would make the tired classics better again.
My argument is : the classics become 'worse' because they start to lack emotion. Not because they technically can't play it anymore. They can. Just with (way) less feeling. Do you (and others) really believe Bono (and the others) can give the songs more emotion when they just play a part ? Don't think so. Imo, it would be even worse. It would be quick and half-assed. Recently, Bono said it took him quite some time to get into Every Breaking Wave. That song is great because the emotions, not persé because it's musically great. So, he's REALLY not going to get into, let's say, WOWY for 30 seconds, in between 30 seconds of Streets and Pride.

Coverbands (or Sergio ), well, they DO play it with emotion. Because they're great songs which they love AND they haven't played 5000 times. Therefore this could be/work better.

So yeah, like Alvin said : I prefer dropping them over a medley.

    My 2 cents / opinion.

That is what i said many times . This versions are a bit poor. WOWY from 1987 , SBS from 1983/1987 , NYD 1983/1987 were the real songs. Not this ( days)
Many people want to listen anyway so a way to be everyone happy ( except you ) is the medleys . The songs were played in 10 minutes 4 classics and many people are happy.
Anyway i m with about to drop them( SBS , NYD ,WOWY and One ). Or just play a couple times on tour ( Pride, IWF, ISHFWILF, )
AB songs were played a lot last tour . Maybe could rest some songs too ( UTEOTW, MW, ) Some like Elevation , Stuck and Walk on could rest too

Streets , Out of control , All i want is you , Bad, EBTTRT ( the new version) , Ultraviolet , the fly , Zooropa , Stay have to stay
  6. and I think just the other way round (like on the pictures on twitterl last weeks) he's not looking good
  7. New Rolling Stone interview with Bono here.

"We've got something beyond incredible planned. And I'm ready to fight for it."

It sounds boring, but our drug of choice at the moment is songwriting, and trying to take U2's to the next level.

  8. This gets me really excited!!

As I was the one who brought up the 'medley issue', I have to say that having read Belgium Bono's thoughts on the matter, I am in total agreement with him. No Medleys, but likewise, I have to say, no going through the motions with the oldies too.
