1. Hello Remy Hello crew Hello people

U2start is probabily the greatest place in the world about U2 bootlegs. In fact the downloads are always increasing together with the people who own a good number of bootlegs. Though the contributions for the songs still remain few For the most important and popular songs we have even about 30 contributions, but do you think that's enough?!
My opinion (which is the same of the most faithful users here, I'm sure) is that we have to do something to increase the contributions, something to make people be happier than now to submit their own contributions. A good but little step was made with the release of the new U2start as Remy had the good idea to show on the home page the name of the last contributor Nevertheless the situation seems to be almost the same
So my suggestion is to open a new list, just like those for top-posters and top-downloaders. A list for the top-contributors so that people, just like I said before, could feel happier to be a contributor.

    Thanks for reading

  2. cheers for the suggestion sadb7788 but i'm failing to understand. Contributing what exactly?

I believe he means those who have added outstanding live performances of songs :-

    http://www.u2start.com/songs/

Assuming so as sadb was the last to add a great performance (for One).
  4. On that point, I've never understood what the difference is between the most popular songs and the fan favourite songs?

I know the favourite songs are the one's we list in our profiles. Where does the data for the other come from?
  5. Then I suggest that Saddb7788 joins the bootleg round table. That way you can say everything you'd like on a particular show and one day we might just add those comments to the relating show instead of just song contributions. The way the contributions thing works now isn't much use to anyone but we will be working on an improved version for the next site upgrade and i've all ready told Remy that theres interest in merging reviews and ratings with the bootleg round table so come and join.

You can contribute the renditions on the songs you like (for example, "Vertigo was greatly performed on 2006-02-20 Sao Paulo"). That's what Sadb refers to.

So you pretend to develope a system like the U2-Vertigo-Tour.com one (on some concerts, they note "Bad longs more than 15 minutes", "Pride is interrupted by Bono" or that kind of things) ?

perhaps that. But more of just adding some general 'user comments' on the show. Or 'U2Start members on this show. . . ' etc. No harm in giving it a go.

Yeh, that sort of thing. If you look at the roundtable I do a summary every Monday of what we all thought to the show, compiled from our reviews posted on the Sunday.

So it will say things like Bullet was bloody amazing, great snippet of ........, and Bono's voice sucked rotten eggs, avoid like the plague. Well, generally it's a little more constructive than that. We also comment on the sound quality and suggest if the rating currently given should be changed or not.

    eg

All members of the roundtable enjoyed this boot. Several said that they thought is was the best we have listened to in recent weeks.
There were some excellent performances of several songs, especially ones rarely heard live by U2 in the modern era. Electric Co, ASOH and '40' have all been mentioned
The sound was very good for a 23 year-old bootleg but has been changed here to 4 stars to reflect a few glitches.
Only real negative - Bono's voice weak in a couple of places.

The concert was all about the music and is a good example of an UF boot for anyone looking for somewhere to start.

then I cange it if the ratings wrong etc so it keeps the place in order. It's going very well the round table. It's about the only time I listen to a show from start to finish which I am grateful for.
