1. So if the the whole innocence first night, experience second night thing is true, do you think they'd play the album version of Sleep Like A Baby Tonight on the innocence night and the alternative perspective version on experience night? Idk, I was listening to the album and it just got me thinkin.

I don t think they will do that
  3. anyone read the new off the record? bit surprised by the author's thoughts.. might be worth discussing.

I am sure U2 know that the iTunes release of Songs Of Innocence has been a PR disaster, no matter what statistics have been thrown at us, no matter what they want to believe. The fact is there has been an unwelcome and far-reaching effect on the band’s place in the world commercially, and this has undoubtedly had a major effect on why tickets have not sold out. I don’t buy this whole “the tickets are too expensive” topic; the tour is no more expensive than other comparable acts. Worse still, it’s their first indoor tour in almost 15 years and tickets are still available? The shows are relatively limited, with the potential audience for the shows announced so far being the equivalent of just 15 of the 360 tour outdoor shows. It’s incredible, and what I find really amazing is the total lack of promotion to anywhere in the world outside of the U2 core fanbase. If you weren’t a subscriber or regular reader of the official band site, then I doubt you would even know U2 were touring at all.

    a PR disaster? really?
  4. I mostly agree with the virtual totality of that text lol They wanted to make the most out of their position and the backlash was bigger than expected, and finally helped to strenghten the immense amount of hate towards U2 all around the globe...

    ...

...So what? We're still fans, the band is still touring and making music, and if the tour news only reach the core fan base then it can only mean less casual fans populating "our" seats and GA spots I have no problem with U2 becoming a smaller, rarer band in today's world. Absolutely no problem.
  5. ^ Me too, bu I'm sure they would have problem with that. They don't do music for us diehards but for the masses... which is sad...

Yeah, I don't know about that "PR disaster" myth. The people that whined about the free album already hated U2, but the new listeners from that move is way more than the haters, they just don't tweet about calmly listening to a U2 album.

    Damn... that's exactly my thoughts...

on the other hand, if they made music for us diehards instead of for the masses, Unforgettable Fire never would have happened... and definitely Achtung Baby would never have happened either.
  7. There will be a huge 3D screen, that's why tickets prices are high.
Get the fly shades coming into the venue.

Acrobat will be played with real acrobats performing on background.

I will have the best spot in GA.

    It's good to dream..............
  8. So a lot of requests for the new tour that are from Pop have been Gone, Last Night On Earth, Mofo, and Discotheque seem to be the most popular (rightfully so), but I just watched Bono and Edge play Staring at the Sun back in 2011 when the orchestra played behind them. It was a pretty solid performance! Wouldn't mind seeing that... It's better than Stuck at least haha
  9. An acoustic medley of Father Is An Elephant and Grace is better than Stuck
  10. I've never read a truer statement in any other thread since I've been a guest and member at U2start.com.

I'd happily take anything from the Clinton Foundation appearance.

Ok, perhaps not Edge's MacBook on percussion.
