I am sure U2 know that the iTunes release of Songs Of Innocence has been a PR disaster, no matter what statistics have been thrown at us, no matter what they want to believe. The fact is there has been an unwelcome and far-reaching effect on the band’s place in the world commercially, and this has undoubtedly had a major effect on why tickets have not sold out. I don’t buy this whole “the tickets are too expensive” topic; the tour is no more expensive than other comparable acts. Worse still, it’s their first indoor tour in almost 15 years and tickets are still available? The shows are relatively limited, with the potential audience for the shows announced so far being the equivalent of just 15 of the 360 tour outdoor shows. It’s incredible, and what I find really amazing is the total lack of promotion to anywhere in the world outside of the U2 core fanbase. If you weren’t a subscriber or regular reader of the official band site, then I doubt you would even know U2 were touring at all.

a PR disaster? really?

Yeah, I don't know about that "PR disaster" myth. The people that whined about the free album already hated U2, but the new listeners from that move is way more than the haters, they just don't tweet about calmly listening to a U2 album.

It was a pretty solid performance! Wouldn't mind seeing that... It's better than Stuck at least haha
