This idea survived all the way to the beginning of the music rehearsals, at which point it became apparent that it wasn’t really viable. I really believe that they could have rehearsed enough songs for two shows, and I would have very much enjoyed being able to delve into the catalog, but the question of which songs would be left out of any given show became too big to get around. The potential upset that a punter buys a ticket for the “wrong” show, depending on their personal taste, began to make it a bit of a minefield.
Hmmm . I didnt' see that thanks Tim . Thats a cop out IMO . The band have more then enough hits to spread around over 2 nights .

If DMB and Pearl Jam can play 2 totally different sets , U2 could with no problem at all . U2 have a decade of music on those 2 aforementioned bands .

I really thought they'd take more risk. I'll definitely be unloading some of my NY tickets. It's even worse to know that they were so close to rotating more songs and kinda chickened out at the end. All my ranting aside, I'm still greatly looking forward to the concerts and I'm so happy that they're touring. SOI is my favorite album from the boys since Pop and they sound fantastic. I still can't believe how great Bono sounds. I'm just not gonna waste my time with the same set multiple times.

I think they panicked as well . They shouldn't have promoted one thing , and then decide against it AFTER selling the tickets .

As Adam once famously said in the R&H film..."I think thats kinda bullshit".
  3. did they really PROMOTE it as such? the way I always understood it was that they were "thinking about it" (like, adam mentioned it during an interview) as a possible option. I don't feel cheated by them at all. it never said so on any website or when you were buying the tickets...

and as if the demand for the tickets had been any lesser without the "bait". they don't need that sorta bs, I'm sorry...
  4. Sorry, I don't understand. Were you involved in the production of this stream?

They didn't do it on purpose and they don't need it to sell tickets but it still happened that way. I gave them the benefit of doubt because all cities were only pairs up until LA. But LA pretty much confirmed no variation. Not accusing the band of doing it viciously to scheme on the small percent of people going to more than 4 shows.
  6. nope, just happy to hear it again. i missed first half of mojr last night

Bono was quoted in the tour announcement on U2.com. Couldn't be more blatant
