1. Even with the idea of two shows being tossed around during the beginning, I always thought the tour was called that because they knew they were going to have two albums.
  2. I don't buy it. Remember Songs of Ascent.

This band has fooled me and crushed my hopes too many times.

I'll believe it when I see and hear it.
  3. they'll just ship the new album to all our mail boxes this time. you heard it here first.
  4. I'm with BelgianBono. U2 operate on a different calendar than the rest of us. I don't see the next album coming out until after the whole tour is over with. Maybe by Thanksgiving 2016 but that's optimistic. Remember it took 5 1/2 years for SOI to come out and they had 3-4 projects that could have been completed in the interim.

Agree. I know how much they struggle with their self imposed deadlines, but I really believe that this time will be different:

    1) Calling the tour I+E. Either they include SOE in this tour or they drop the whole new album idea altogether. I don't think they'll drop it.

    2) It's not only Bono talking about it this time.

    3) Lyrics and several song titles have been mentioned in articles... I believe that there's several songs finished or near finished.

    4) They have a mobile recording studio. At worst that shows more commitment to this new album than in previous efforts, at best it means that they're consistently recording and advancing the project.

I think it's very similar to the Zooropa situation, I recon that they should already have enough material for an EP and the question would be if they go for the full album or not.
  6. Ok, let's assume SOE comes out within a few months. North America didn't get any of it live, Europe everything. How are they going to dare that if they don't even dare to make night 1 different to night 2 ? Explain that.

Please also explain how they've got enough time to record and write new material, when they don't even have enough time to rehearse for the songs they're playing RIGHT NOW. Edge admits they're cutting a lot of corners, and that's not good if it's your, erhm, job. And please don't tell me they couldn't rehearse because they're recording. That's about priorities.

But hey, please live in your dream. Just don't cry when it's not going to happen. Again.

As a U2-fan I've learnt to slightly hope, but never to expect anything. And that's normal for such a big band after 40 years.

I don't see it coming out this year. I'm thinking it will be 2016. And then maybe a new leg. Maybe even a stadium your with that?

I wonder would the current stage set up be for for a stadium? Obviously the screen would have to be hung from something so maybe not?

Though this is the band that keeps topping their stage set ups so who knows?!
  8. It could only work if they're going to wrap up arenas after the next Europe leg, take some months of, release it and do a stadium tour.
But is it really the same tour then...

And again, I don't think they've got enough time to record and write during the tour. Or will. Plus remember they're in their 50's already.

They could never use this stage setup in a stadium, I think they would (will?) change it completely. But don't ask me for a stage design draft, I'm not Willie Williams

Regarding SOE I agree with Glenn. Don't expect anything and you'll be rewarded with anything, or, with some good luck, with an album.
