1. Just make a mix of two best songs from U2's best albums. He will like it or don't.

  2. Also, even though he will miss the awesomeness of the live side of U2 that's on Slane, Sydney or other live releases, you can also just lend him a copy of U218, or the Best of 80-90 plus Best of 90-00. Both work fine as a summary of U2's career.
  3. u2s last album should be named man
  4. Not a really original thought... It has been floating around since many years ago. I believe they will do it
  5. mhmh, i know has been on topic before , just felt like saying it again
  6. No prob!
I think it will be the perfect way to close the cycle.
  7. it would be great
  8. This might be a tough question to ask..might be a bit like asking what movie George Lucas would make now if he had never made Star Wars (but so many movies now were influenced by Star Wars) but here goes:

If U2 was suddenly erased from music history but everything else remained intact, they were turned back to being 18, what sort of music do you think they would make and do you think they would still rise to stardom? In the 80s U2 never really made music that fit the time - what would that sound like now? Would Edge still use delay as heavily as he did and does? Would Bono still sing about political issues? What would their sound be?

    Go!
  9. Well, many people say they aren't really good musicians (they say it themselves).
The hitlists are full of talentless people.
SO : they'd be popular on the radio, but remain pretty mediocre. No stardom.
About the music : I see Edge dropping the base in Tomorrowland.
  10. I agree with that, but I don't think they would've gone anywhere.

    The right question would be
What music would they be listening now? And would that be enough to inspire some teenagers into forming a band, stick with it despite not being that good, and yet finding some space into the indi universe (not even talking about the mainstream here)?

I think it wouldn't. There is no U2 in this universe.

  11. Some clarification: Not that the music today is not inspiring, I mean that there is no "punk"... No bands like the Ramones or the Clash or the Pistols that send the message of "you can play meaningful music and have success even if you suck at playing"
  12. Good point...

You might be right. You probably are right.
Edge might get into it (he loves technology), but I doubt Larry and Adam will. And I don't think Bono could let all his rage go during 2 lines of vocals that get repeated 60 times in a song
So again : I see Edge dropping the bass @ Tomorrowland. Edgix.
