And haven't all their tours been a greatest hits show? They rarely play curve balls or unknown songs. They usually play 4-7 from the album they're promoting, plus 15-20 hits from previous albums. Obviously, the share each album gets after each tour gets diminished as they have more albums (=more songs) to choose from, but that's their basic formula - and IE Tour is no exception I think. 360 Tour looked like an ATYCLB revival in 2009 and 2010, then an Achtung Baby revival in 2011 - while retaining most of the pre-90 hits like I Will Follow, WOWY, Pride, Streets, Still Haven't Found, AIWIY, etc. It's always been like that. Even Popmart and Zoo TV, both of which featured their respective albums prominently, had around 7-8 staples from the new albums, filled with 15 other hits from past times. IE is the same up to now: 6-10 new songs, and 12-15 hits from the past.
The difference is that there's no unknown oldies for the diehards this time (The Ocean, An Cat Dubh/Into The Heart in Vertigo Tour; Ultraviolet, The Unforgettable Fire, Your Blue Room in 360), which I guess has stung our setlist criticism even further![]()
