1. it should be included in every reply including when someone replies to me

    ---

Anyway, I'm being unfair in here.
I'm not giving too much importance to this issue right now, because I already gave it too much importance (maybe not that much) an felt like that some time ago, so actually I empathize with the sentiment, is just that I already argued a lot with myself about this and in the end I decided that I don't really care that much about it.

Every song they play I always wonder what are they actually playing and what is pre-recorded or added by Terry. Sometimes I'm surprised when I find out that they're playing more than what I originally thought (Raised By Wolves for instance) but sometimes is the other way around. But I've agreed with myself that I would accept it anyway.

Because I won't "break up" with U2 over this, they are actually creating the songs themselves, they are talented enough that they actually can play everything in the song (just not all at the same time), and they are actually playing their instruments when they're on the stage.

Also, if they're using a backing track, there's a good chance that there's a good reason for them to do it.
  2. Obviously I won't break up with the band of my life or the man who turned me into a guitar player 10 years ago over this issue.

But I think I have my right to be disappointed.

And I've heard my share of drummer friends say the same about Larry for using a click track... But still haven't met one who said he wouldn't use one too, if he could take Larry's place!

It's not the same (although we could argue about the IEMs click tracks, verse cues, etc. all day long too), being a drummer and not using a metronome/click track is like being a guitar player and not using a tuner. Can it be done? Sure, I tune by ear... But digital tuners make it easier and better.
Not much to do with the issue discussed here I think.

"Sergio, The Edge had a bad case of food poisoning and won't be able to perform the NYC shows. We heard you are a stellar guitar player and would like you to fill in for him, but we understand you have issues with his methods and the way we do our show. Does this mean you wouldn't be interested in taking his place"?

I would put on makeup, dress in a ridiculous gold suit, and even wear devil horns in order to play with U2! Anything it takes.

that is the only point I was trying to make.

10 out of 10 drummers surveyed that criticized click tracks but would not hesitate to use them to be in Larry's seat!

  10. Thanks for the offer, but I decline! I'm more of a singer, now where's that Bono poisoning?

BTW, I'm not an stellar guitar player, never have been and probably never will.......

    ..........But if I were, I wouldn't use pre-recorded parts
