1. Got a record player for my birthday the other day, and picked this vinyl up today to add to the collection.

It was between this and Parachutes.. hope I made the right choice!

Personally it's my favorite between the two.

I know Coldplay isn't well liked in these parts, but I'm glad there's a few of us here. I wonder how their next album is going to sound...
  3. A Rush Of Blood is a great album, one of the bests of the 00's imo. Too bad Coldplay went downhill after that one, but A Rush and Parachutes are great
  4. I like their new stuff. Mylo Xyloto was good, but I think Ghost Stories is their most complete work to date.
  5. X&Y is a good album. Some powerful songs. "A Message". Love it.
  6. I only like AROBTTH and Parachutes
  7. If I were to tell somebody to purchase just one thing from Coldplay, it would be their performance of "A Message" they did for Hope For Haiti. For such a great performance, it's a shame that a decent full video is impossible to find... Fortunately, I think the album can still be purchased.

  8. They're the perfect example of a band that peaked early (1st and 2nd albums are the best by a mile). There are good and very good songs on the rest of the albums -except Ghost Stories- but no other collection of songs got even close to their peak.
  9. I think Viva La Vida is up there with some of the best work they have ever done. It depends what you mean in terms of "peak", I suppose they did headline Glastonbury after two albums - something that should never have happened. But they've still remained that huge stadium act since.
  10. I don't speak in terms of relevance or popularity, but in terms of proper songwriting quality. Their popularity peaked on Viva La Vida (continued into Mylo) no doubt, but that album is still a bit behind Parachutes and Rush imho.
  11. If U2 made elevator music...
