I would love to see The Toubles in a fixed spot every night, Lucifer's Hands and Crystall Ballroom more at the E-stage (instead of NYD or Elavation).
I also think that the 2nd and 4th song should rotate, so no I Will Follow every night but Gloria, Two Hearts, Electric co, Out of Control and I Will Follow in these spots.
The Troubles = perfect show closer (or at least main set closer) Unfortunately I Will Follow makes the "mother segment" together with Iris so I can't see any rotation there :S It could be replaced by Mofo, that would be pretty insane More SOI songs on e-stage would definitely help - the ones we have now are really not that special, same goes for the encore - it has nothing special like 360 did (Ultra Violet or HMTMKMKM)
  2. In the US there was even a period around Boston when they completely mixed the set up - for a few shows, COBL & WOWY were earlier. It may not have worked but at least it kept fans on their toes. They have just got complacent.
  3. Does anybody know what the last set list was
    Thanks
  4. The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)
    The Electric Co.
    Vertigo
    I Will Follow
    Iris (Hold Me Close)
    Cedarwood Road
    Song for Someone
    Sunday Bloody Sunday
    Raised by Wolves
Until the End of the World
    Intermission
    (The Fly)
    Invisible
Even Better Than the Real Thing
    Mysterious Ways
    Elevation
    Volcano
    Every Breaking Wave
    October
    Bullet the Blue Sky
    Zooropa
Where the Streets Have No Name
Pride (In the Name of Love)
    With or Without You
    Encore:
    City of Blinding Lights
    Beautiful Day
  5. One song like Volcano is not enough for a concert and a band like u2, they MUST do more changes in setlists e not repeat the first set with the same songs except the second. The second part after intermission ok but there are on their plane with autopilot, no solos, no improvvisations, yesterday night The Edge made misttakes on Vertigo and sometimes he played guitar alone without following drums and bass or the voice of Bono who has cut some verses. Listen to the concert again and you will be agree with me.
  6. An excellent recording of last night's show (barca#3) is up on u2torrents & dimeadozen.

    I must admit that
    a) I can't stop listning - such an high energy show!
    b) The "I'm sorry" bit in UTEOTW has quite some suspense - it certainly does add something extra to the show...

But I guess all setlist complainers really don't care. They don't listen to the show and stuff like "high energy" doesn't fit in their scheme of judging shows...
Of course, "change" would be welcome and applauded, but the fact that setlists in Europe are static doesn't mean that the shows aren't good...
I know people who think the ZOO TV tour was U2 greatest achievement - now THAT was a static setlist

I am no FUN... I know (I think POP is too "dark" and that Invisible is one of the highlights of the show - in fact I think that from The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone) to EBTTRT is one BIG highlight...)

    OK...your turn

Great points. I understand both sides . I'm sure we'd all love additional setlist changes. The "static" started at the MSG shows I attended. Especially nights 5-7. However being there, it didn't matter. The energy was off the charts and it was one of the best moments in my life. If I let something like "elevation" ruin my experience than I'd be a fool.
  8. I don't see why complaining about the setlist can't go hand in hand with praising how good a show is/was/can be/enjoying what you get to its max

Also, an interesting/rare setlist doesn't make a good show, while a good show doesn't mean the setlist is very good/interesting.

This is true. Especially with bands that change sets every night. Sometimes too many rarities through off the crowd or the set doesn't quite flow right.
  10. Exactly... of course being there is a lot different - Berlin 4 was my 1st U2 show EVER and I loved every second of it even though they didn't play whole Zooropa and Pop but I'm not a blind sheep - they are obviously playing it suuuper safe, even snippets are fixed, at least Bono could make it more interesting this way - sometimes "Here Us Coming", sometimes "Unchained Melody", sometimes "Shine Like Stars", but it's always the same... It's a small detail, I know, but it tells you something
  11. I'm not going to complain about sets any more. They're not that kind of band and they perform brilliantly night after night. I'll just be glad to see them so many times before they snuff it.
