  1. thats nice....
U2 fans are some really special people. Several times in the past, they have co-ordinated on masse and surprised the band by turning arenas and stadiums into the flags of Southern Ireland and Poland. Now, in the wake of the horrific attacks in Paris, there is a new fan movement to show their solidarity.
Several people have tweeted us to let us know about an event being planned for the next two concerts in Belfast. The creator of the event, Connie Maria Westergaard, says on Facebook: "Belfast has its own history of terror and violence, so it seems like the right time and place to make a statement in the name of peace, love and music and pay our respect to the victims of terror and violence all around the world." If you are attending or planning to attend the concerts in Belfast and wish to participate, you are asked to do the following:
    Wear white clothing
Wave something white, such as a napkin, piece of paper, cloth, etc. when the band enter the stage, and during performances of Sunday Bloody Sunday, Raised By Wolves, and One (if they play it). For something white to wave, people have created these signs that can be printed.
That's all you need to do. You can find out details on the event's Facebook page linked above. Even if you aren't attending, please share the event on social media with the hashtag #WhiteOutBelfast.
U2 fans are some very special people. We are One. White Out Belfast together; don't let the bastards grind you down.
  2. I'm not one to usually participate in such things myself but I applaud the initiative.

Belfast should be something special and I look very much forward to these shows. Some tunes like RBW, EBW and Bullet may be very tense.
  3. A nice idea but I don't see it working without some sort of coordinated effort at the venue where flags or t-shirts are handed out.
  4. Though local press have picked up on it so it might gain some traction.
  5. I'll see all you guys there. Who's going first night?
  6. I'll just be getting in. Could we meet up?
