Personally, I don't think we'll see North Star or Glastonbury as those two songs essentially became two other songs released during the SOI cycle, but there may be hope for Mercy.

This thought comes after hearing Mercy on Wide Awake In Europe and falling in love with it again.
What from SOI came from North Star?
  2. I don't think we'll see any of those tunes. Glastonbury for the reason you mentioned, but I doubt we'll see Mercy or North Star (I'm with Kris, have no idea what song on SoI that became?)

I think Mercy is a tune they left in the past, and if you recall they only tried it live again because Willy Williams suggested it. I wouldn't be surprised if they look at the Wide Awake in Europe version as that song's "release", so to speak. Like it's done, it's out there, it doesn't need to be out there again.

They did record a version of North Star (it was in the third Transformers movie) but it was overproduced and super poppy. Wouldn't be surprised if that was for the hopeful Songs of Ascent that never came to fruition, and they've since left it behind. To me there's a pretty significant stylistic change between what they were messing with during the NLOTH/360 era and SoI. Every Breaking Wave was just too good a song to leave behind, and everyone knew it from the second they heard it.

I still prefer the version they were trying on 360 .
  3. North Star has been noted to sound a lot like SFS in places, though I don't see it.
  4. All my life?
  5. Glastonbury is vulcano! I heard the song in Hannover in 2010. You are rock n roll is used in Vulcano. I can't wait to hear the new tunes. Hopefully it will be released in September
  6. They share one line (where I am and where I used to be), but many songs share lines and they are still released separately
There's still hope for North Star

I love North Star. The live versions are great. It deserves a full studio version, album release.
  8. North Star and SFS do share one line, but thematically I felt there was a strong connection with Iris.
  9. I really hope they will release physical singles for Songs Of Experience...
  10. random question do you know when the dvd will be out for 2015 tour ?
  11. What if they release DVDs of both the 2015 and upcoming tour in an IE package?
