1. Very good points all around. I tried to compare some of their best songs up to the tours we're discussing, but ignored the fact that U2 mostly ignored their 3 first albums on Zoo TV while Muse only totally ignores Showbiz since 2009 and thankfully only ignored Origin Of Symmetry a couple of times this year (and always keep at least TIRO as the mandatory Absolution song)... But in the case of U2, one can hardly claim their 3 first albums as their best ever, while in the case of Muse that's pretty much the case for many of their fans
  2. I wonder if there are people still out there that are strong in their stance that U2 first three albums are their best and anything else afterwards is of less quality? I suppose these pre-Lanois albums have a sound that some might find more appealing than anything else that followed. I mean, how about a ten-song album with just these songs:
    I Will Follow
    Out of Control
    Electric Co.
    11 O'Clock Tick Tock
    October
    Gloria
    Sunday Bloody Sunday
    New Year's Day
    Two Hearts
    40
That's a pretty solid record if you ask me.

(I know this is the Muse thread but I feel I should be able to talk about U2 anywhere in this forum).
  3. I think it's time to break out my Red Rocks disc.
  4. Funnily enough I just finished the Red Rocks 2015 Revisited thing we talked about in another thread
  5. I see it!

Is it merely a very nice/creative album cover or is there music to go with it?
  6. I just have to finish listening to HAARP (DVD version) right now.

And yet another opportunity to express my disappointment that Bliss was omitted!
  7. Already answered I did my best but the recordings weren't very similar sounding so you can notice the different sources (Los Angeles, Dublin, London, Cologne, Turin) of each song... But I think it's an interesting document anyway. Will be up shortly!
  8. Very cool. I will play devil's advocate (aka asshole) and add that UABRS should have been 10 to 12 songs in length and have included tracks like Out of Control, October, and Two Hearts - which were, oddly enough, also played during the i&e tour!

    Can I say "extended edition?!"
  9. I really like their stage setup, but to me it still feels like they aren't 100% comfortable with using it at times. Some of their visuals are top notch and a small part of me regrets not seeing them in San Diego when I had the chance.
  10. Just found out there is a part 4 of the Exogenesis Symphony! Released on April Fools
