See, to me that's a loophole to say "I never promised that beyond the original US dates".

U2 can't really do that. I know we're all a bit jaded based on what U2 has done in the past, but I really do think they'll stick to their guns on this. They've made a big promise and JT means a lot to a lot of people - I don't think they'll be half-assing this.

I do hope they play it in sequence though. Edge hinted that they might make revisions such as not having Streets played first. I hope they change their minds on that and open the show with that. Fuck that'd be great.
  2. I don't particularly mind if it's in sequence, just as long as all of the parts are there. Streets opening would be monumental to witness.
  3. Confirmed, you can use your pre-sale code for different concerts:
As a paid-up U2.com Subscriber you are eligible to purchase up to FOUR (4) tickets for any show or combination of shows (for example you can purchase 2 tickets for a show in New York and 2 tickets for a show in San Francisco, or 1 ticket for New York, 1 ticket for San Francisco, 1 ticket for London and 1 ticket for Rome.)

  4. Any reason Croke has a Pitch 1 and Pitch 2?

I agree wih you, just as long as they play all the songs. U2 knows what is the best way to bring out all TJT songs to the fans. I prefer Streets later in the show for the climax. After this some more old hits, like Out of control, NYD, Sunday, Pride. Than everybody gets crazy

stupid question, sorry in advance: I'd like to purchase tickets for dublin, london and amsterdam. "local time" means I could start purchasing tickets for dublin/london an hour prior to the amsterdam shows, right? and my single presale code would work both times on that day? or am I getting confused here
  7. I really hate how they aren't ready with all the info when tour is announced.
Would love to see a stadium map that displays ticket prices for sections.

I hope thats how it works, although my plan of action is to get the Amsterdam ticket an hour prior to the London one

According to the FAQ that seems to be fine
  10. "Upper seats not suitable for those with Vertigo". Think that confirms they will drop it?

The big differences between the River'16 tour and the Joshua Tree Anniversary tour are IMHO:
    1. at the moment of that announcement of "full River album is played "only US indoor shows were announced in the spring up to 15 March.

For U2 both US and European shows are announced now.. .

2 all but 2 European shows were outdoors for much larger audiences. For the European shows it was NOT explicitly stated that the River would be played in full, but tourname and logo were the same, so most fans were led to be believed that it would also be played in full in Europe. At one of only 2 European indoor shows in Paris River was played in full. After that it was played 2 times in Scandinavia (where Bruce is very popular) has fanatical Gothenburg and Oslo.

For TJT tour all dates announced are outdoors.

    3. The River is a double album taking the majority /a very large portion of the show plus quite a few songs on that album are not exactly stadium rock, which would make it hard to keep the attention of the audience (which happened a few times during indoor shows in the US). Maybe that was a big reason for Bruce to decide not to play full River album in Europe in stadiums every night.

The Joshua Tree is almost all stadium rock material, plus it is a single album.

Having said that, I would not be entirely surprised that after performing JT in the USA and when U2 feels that some songs do not work live as expected they might decide to skip or rotate a few more obscure JT songs here and there, especially when playing multiple nights in the same city.
We will have to wait and see.
