I always hear such interesting stories regarding GA. I queued super early at Anaheim for 360 and got a prime spot right at the outer ring. Then I did GA for IE at The Forum, showed up maybe an hour before gates open and got a decent spot, but not at the front.
Personally, I'm not the type of person that needs to be right up in the front anymore, but for U2 I definitely want to be on the field.
