    Because seats behind the stage were sold cheaper than the rest. Placing the stage at the middle of the stadium would have forced them to sell half of the seats cheaper! (since they just couldn't face all sides the same amount of time).

  3. I was talking about 360 where they sold 75% of the seats at full price and just a 25% cheaper.

    Regarding this Joshua Tree Tour I think they opted for something simpler on purpose. Doing a 360º stage would have killed the "simpler approach".

    Your theory is probably right but then if they're all about accommodating the fans surely central would be the way. It wouldn't be too far away from any seats and would ensure a genuinely fair spectacle for all, I think Rod Stewart did it for one of his tours.

    What about the GA? Seeing the stage from behind but from a seat is one thing, but being GA at the band's leven and seeing nothing but their asses backs for half or more of the show... mmm not sure about that.

    Well Larry could have his drum kit on something that rotates, and the three band members could be in a more triangular formation instead of a line, they move about enough to keep it fair for all, I think the square idea works better for this and if the stage was central but small with 4 walk outs then they really would be close to everyone at some point.

    Larry was already on a rotatin platform But still anyone seating behind the 360 stage will tell you that they only faced the band for a 10% of the show max

    I think possibly the biggest problem with 360 in relation to my idea was it's size, a smaller stage, maybe like the e stage with wider walk ways would work perfectly I feel, then the band would be facing all directions naturally just by moving around. I get what your saying though and I still thought 360 was as close to perfection as we've had stage wise but I can't see past a central stage.
