I LOVE that performance! It's just a great version
  3. I know it's not early in the band's career but the encore at the end of ZooTV DVD in Sydney, from With Or Without You up to Can't Help Falling In Love, he REALLY gets emotional there because he thought the band was finished after Adam had his breakdown, it was a miracle that they got that show underway!

AND in One during the PopMart DVD, when he dedicates it to Michael Hutchence and when he signs "have you come to raise the dead", and also Bad on the Boston DVD, man he gets really carried with it!
  4. Well one that hasnt been mentioned is bad from farmclub...........that is an amazing, up close performance......just look into bono's eyes as he takes off.........one of the best

couldn't agree more rob...the whole show is just amazing. Theres a whole page on the show in U2 by U2. Larry says how it was the most emotional night of his life and he will never forget that night. I think Bono losing his voice just added to the emotion of the show since he is struggling the whole show. He really says some inspirational things. I think this is up there with their best show of all time. This is U2 at its finest!! All the colours. all the feelings. They all bleed into one! HAHA

    Nice said.

My opinion is that Sarajevo is the best U2 concert. Ever.

And I'm really proud that on Mexico DVD, in "Missing Sarajevo" documentary you can see "Croatia loves U2" message that someone in the crowd holds. With that concert in Sarajevo begun whole new era.
  6. How about that version of "All I Want Is You" that was on Irish TV, in '97? It was a tribute to the Omagh bombings I think, Bono gets really passionate...

And I agree with Casper. That sometimes makes me cry, my G-ma died the other day and that version has been really good for me.

Yeah! i love that one as wel, makes it one of the best versions of bad. I've been trying to find out what he says and I think its this:

    Not fade away
    Rather take a chance
    Rather take a chance
    When we'll hear this song
    And hear yourself
    Rather take a chance
But it's bitter sweet love, bitter sweet love, love, love, love, love, love...
    I'm wide awake etc....

    But i'm not sure

Here's what transcription expert slaneman heard:

    Run and take a chance
    Run and take a chance
    With a little soul
    We need a soul
    Run and take a chance
But it’s bitter for you, bitter for you
    Love, love
    Love, love
    Love, love

Very indeed, I agree pretty much. He's on the edge of the tears. Even today I simply can't understand how could he sing on that concerts, London 08-21 and Slane. I can't.

Anyway, -politically talking- this has to be the TOP of the emotions.
