  1. So jealous of everyone getting any of these, hope you enjoy them! They look beautiful from the pics / video I've seen.

    I think I'll have to wait to get mine till later in the year or maybe even next year when finances ease up, spent so much money on shows and travelling of late, though I might grab the white 2CD version before then as that won't break the bank.

  3. I quite like the Bullet remix. Very badass abstarct kind of vibe. Wouldnt mind some of that on SOE, minus the drum machine - but it works in the context of a remix.

    Not a fan of the Streets remix overall but it does make me long to hear an isolated vocal from Bono on this track.

    I kinda wish they would give Lanois another shot, even though the RTSS remix didn't quite do it for me.

    Glad Danger Mouse didn't get is paws over it haha

  6. Listening on Spotify and Im quite happy to have not purchased this . MSG brings back great memories of not 1 but 2 classic shows I attended back in the day . Sounds great and much better then the Wolfgang vault version that we have had for ages.

    Agreed it's a shame that MSG is not in it's entirety (as I would have purchased) , I guess their reasoning is to keep it on 1 disc rather then have a 3 cd option that would cost a bit more ? A downloadable option of the missing tracks would have made perfect sense . Not good .

    Amazon has this JT Super deluxe listed as:

    -The Joshua Tree 2007
    -Live from Madison Square Garden 1987
    -The Joshua Tree 2017 Remixes
    -The Joshua Tree B-Sides & Outtakes .

    You mean to tell me this wasn't even remastered for 2017 ? Strike 1

    MSG sounds fantastic , but is not complete . Strike 2

    The 2017 remixes sound dreadful .BTBS is laughably bad. Strike 3

    The JT b sides I have had since 1987 and the "outtakes" we have had since 2007. Nothing new here . Strike 4

    Why was this not re-released on the original release date of JT March 9th 1987 ? Why June 2 2017 ? Tour promotion maybe ?

    Mgt should have at least contained the full MSG show , a blu ray of some sort as in a show , (studio outtakes that we don't already have) , JT documentary (that is out there) etc...how many times can we purchase the same material ?

    Speaking of remixes , I splurged for the Beatles gorgeous 50th anniversary Sgt Peppers box . The new stereo remix of Pepper sounds absolutely amazing and look at all the goodies the box comes with , 4 cd's (2 discs consisting of rare outtakes) a blu ray and a Pepper documentary dvd , plus a beautiful 144 page book . I lost count how many times I have bought Pepper since the late 70s (numerous times on vinyl, 1987 cd , 2009 mono cd plus 2009 remastered stereo cd etc etc) , but this package is just amazing . The Beatles mgt got this one right (as usual) , and it was re-released on the anniversary of Pepper (June 1 1967 - June 1 2017) not some random date .

    Sorry , but I can not say the same for U2s JT 30th Anniversary package .

    IMO , there is no point to buy this . I'll pass .
  7. Yeah it is way too short. Wish we could get some of that ambience of the next album... but it wont be the case if they are going for a live feel (which i am also happy with)

    Can't really disagree with you except I'd say the 2cd version is well worth purchasing. Not a full gig as you say but I think it's a decent enough package and as you also said the sound is better than Wolfgangs. It will probably go down in price in the future too so if you can wait you'd probably get a good bargain, I'm still happy with it though at around £15, hoping for more official live releases in the future.

    What vexes me even more is that UF, BAD and Spanish Eyes were cut .ISHFWILF (choir version) we have had for almost 30 years as it was released on R&H .

    If you HAD to cut a tune , then thats the one to cut no ?

    MLK into BTBS sounds odd , as if its missing something...maybe because it is .
  11. The version of TUF at MSG that night left a lot to be desired, but Bad is great from that show. Why not take TUF from another night and keep Spanish Eyes and Bad? And make the show a 2 CD set? Satisfaction guaranteed!
