  5. So, is this the case with RTSS also...? So when you/you'll say delay, does that mean Edge performed it in this fashion for this show or was this post production stuff, etc. Sorry, I'm not a musician at all, so would be grateful if someone can elaborate a little more

    Better question. Is this worth spending $24.99 on. I don't have unlimited disposable income and there's more than enough bootlegs available to satisfy every lingering curiosity I could ever have regarding this tour. Plus, because there are so many bootlegs available, unless you are actively rotating recordings on your mobile music devices, you'll get diminishing returns from acquiring so much material. Denver is my go-to bootleg whenever I need that Joshua Tree Tour fix. It's also the first bootleg I listened to, so it has special emotional appeal to me.


  7. I would honestly choose this MSG release over the Denver show every day, twice a day and for numerous reasons!!! Yes, it's missing a couple of songs, but still..Many great shows/moments/performances with awesome sound you're missing out on!! I honestly don't remember the last time I reached for the Denver show, actually my least favorite from all the great soundboard boots that are available..Just saying!! So yes, it's worth getting!!

    absolutely not true. I've got at least 15,000 bootlegs here and there are still times when it feels like the first one. There are still times when all that matters that day is listening to a new gig, to an old gig in better quality or to the rough old tape I've had for thirty seven years of collecting.
  11. I mean, statistically speaking the more material you have the fewer plays each one will have assuming you haven't gravitated towards a particular favorite. It's the same argument people use regarding setlist variation when they groan about hearing Pride for the millionth time.

    From the standpoint of wanting a collection, sure I'd gather a million bootlegs if I had the time and resources to store that much. However, I'd rather have one solid bootleg that best encompasses the tour, especially if I want to listen to a gig in full and not Frankenstein the best performances together. From the standpoint of free material, of course it's easy to say there are no diminishing returns because it doesn't cost anything to accumulate 15,000 bootlegs on this site. If I'm going to pay money for a recording, it had better have something that I can't already get for free, otherwise it really isn't financially justifiable.

    Let's not misunderstand, I have a hefty collection of bootlegs myself. Many of them I've given a listen in full and moved to storage.
