  2. My "unpopular U2 Opinions"

Miss Sarajevo live got old really quick

Bullet is *this close* to becoming my "I'm gonna go get a beer" song. Seriously, I was ecstatic that it was dropped on 360.

    Larry does actually look old

Being a U2 fan was better when RHMT had never been played live (kinda like living in the time when we didn't know how Harry Potter ended).....this one I might get some support on.

October is not as terrible as some people say....they had 20 years to write their first album, and 6 months to write the second.

The political statements during shows, though expected, the placement in the show can disrupt the flow & feel. Sometimes, we just wanna hear the songs. Side-note, not all of us Canadians are fans of Justin Trudeau, so just cause you're up there applauding him, a lot of us are not happy that his government is spending our kids into the ground.

Would anyone truly be upset if U2 did not play 'One' anymore? It hasn't seen (IMO) a true performance since Bono had to stop playing guitar.

U2 should never have apologised for dropping SOI the way they did. First, Apple was the one who controlled that, second, Apple only acted within the rights granted to them by millions clicking "Yes, I agree.....", third, as I had been particular about my setup in iTunes and iOS devices, I had to intentionally go in and tell it to download for me. Seriously people, you got a free album. Get over it. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. Sheesh.

    And lastly,

Cavity Search > HMTMKMKM.....just to see who's paying attention

All this, and I gotta say I had to think about this for a few days. I tend to be a U2 apologetic. And mom always said, if you can't say something nice......
  3. Just to agree with one of Matts point from above I don't have a 'gonna get a beer' song but I too was glad to see Bullet dropped from 360. It's not one of my favourites from TJT although I do think it's still a good song but very overplayed.

Mostly agree. Definitely agree with the SOI statement. Anybody who bitches about a free album, well... not sure what to say about that. Anybody who bitched about "having their rights violated" should a0 blame Apple, and b) better learn to read the fine print before they click "I agree to terms" or life is really gonna be rough for them down the line...

And don't be apologetic. We are true fans which means we'll bitch about the band to each other, and staunchly defend the band to outsiders. It's what we do. It's our right as contributors to their well being .

People that thought it was the end of the world and their rights were violated because they didn't read all terms are gonna really be surprised when they sign for their first loans and don't read the fine print!
