1. Guy Oseary should be worrying about more important things... Like why Live Nation booked his artist in completely nonsense markets and holding someone accountable.

well I can say, based on the songs that are out in the open and the song you are refering to, that SOE will be an album with a variety of different soundscapes..

They have some great ones too though. Streets, Window in the Skies (the other artist version), Beautiful Day, etc.
  5. based on the 4 songs, we have a real rocker, a beautiful balad, an uplifting radio friendly tune and that other song, another part of the spectrum (looking for words without saying to much )

I think this was more just to get the SOE marketing train rolling and give a roomfull of fans a great memory... As I said, until I see this on the final track list, I'm gonna say this will end up on CD2 of the deluxe package.

Remember... There's always been a method to the marketing madness.
  7. ^ regarding that, U2enEspaña says this:

U2 shared yesterday, August 30th the "The Blackout" video through their social networks, a song that will be included in the long awaited album "Songs of Experience". The announcement published the day before also mentioned that "You're the Best Thing About Me", the first single of the album, will be released on September 6th.
If we had "The Blackout" first, why can we consider it the first single? What is "The Blackout" then? Does that mean we're going to have a physical format for that first single but not for "The Blackout"?
The answer is quite simple and we have to understand it in the context of the digital age that we live in. Singles in physical format are barely sold nowadays except to a small group of collectors. "The Blackout" will NOT go on sale either in physical format or in digital format. Neither will it sound in radios or other means, despite the fact that some radio stations played it yesterday right after the video aired. It was something they did on their own and extracting the audio from the video file.
On the contrary, "You're The Best Thing About Me" will be available from the 6th , NOT in physical format but in digital format. It will also be distributed to the radios so they can play and promote the song and the album.
This is a tiny difference but big enough to consider "You're The Best Thing About Me" a single while "The Blackout" can’t be included in that category despite it was aired first.

Yeah, it is great for the fans that were there, they always have a memory they they were in a music video. If it is released on YouTube do you think they will make a different video or just use this one

Not sure about that. As I've mentioned before, I'm sure everything about yesterday's video quality was deliberate to limit downloading... For all we know, they may have shot video all day or night before or after that little "gig"

I am one of those collectors yes....

So that is really really bad news in my opinion, so the collectors are ignored (I think the bunch of those are hardcore U2 fans)...
    Really sad news
