See, I didn't want to vocalize it, but I feel the same way. I think here Edge was just noodling and playing along with the song, especially considering he was apparently either by himself here or with the rest of the band minus Bono. I don't think this was a full rehearsal, or a good representation of how the song will sound on the record.

Maybe they'll perform it different from how it sounds on the album? Kind of like what they did with EBW.

    Also, your avatar is rad.
It's possible. What we do know is that the song is dedicated or inspired for the daughter of The Edge. I believe that nothing else is playing there without more pretension.

Will YtBTaM be sung by the Edge? It would be great something like that. But, I have no idea that so much change the version of the album that u2 plays live.

    Thanks, Bro.
  2. Regarding them playing it live in a different form from the album it reminds me of I'll Go Crazy. As we know they played that in its original form for all the promo tour, then went to the remix version for every 360 show and only Barcelona got the original as well as so maybe they will do something similar with The Best thing playing the Kygo version on the E&I tour but having a different version on the album.

Well, there you have the intermission track...

It's not about Edge's daughter, it's about Ali - she's just on the single art. https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/music/bono-says-u2-s-next-single-inspired-by-eamon-dunphy-1.3083419
  5. Listened to the Kygo version quite a bit tonight, really like it, it's so catchy. Can't wait to hear the real thing.
  6. Watching/ listening to Dunphy as we speak. Hopefully the single isn't about giving Wes Houlihan more starts for Ireland!

I just hope it's as catchy, even if it sounds different. I also hope that Edge's guitar part (assuming that WAS Edge) in the chorus hasn't changed, or that that part is still represented somehow (strings?).
  8. If you tune in in to BBC Radio 2 in the UK just after 5pm UK time tomorrow, Simon Mayo is playing the new single and will be speaking live with the Edge straight after. He's a big U2 fan and will ask proper U2 fan questions so probably worth tuning in to get the new album details :-)
  9. Most people seem to think the remix is even better than the real thing better than the presumed single mix based on the clip from the rehearsal. I still haven't decided yet...personally, I'm liking the remix less. I hope the single is much more guitar driven.

I guess I'll find out at 8:00 AM tomorrow. Does anyone know if it's to be available for streaming?

I think the remix is you're the best thing about me
  11. My bet is that it will be played on The Ryan Tubridy show tomorrow morning (9am Irish) on RTE Radio 1 where Dave Fanning might join him. If not, Dave fanning will be a guest on some RTE radio show tomorrow to get first play, just like he did in 2009 with GOYB. ... but I could be wrong
