  3. Ah, I really thought that performance of Invisible was really cool! To each their own, I guess. I am looking forward to this live immensely, though I can imagine it being a bit clunky in its early days too... I'm sure that once this one's warmed up it'll be a real bop

    I thought it was pretty cool too. But then again i think I'm one of the few fans who think Invisible is a pretty neat tune. I also like A Man and A Woman which i think most hate so maybe my musical tastes differ than most. Which may be the case with The Best Thing after reading this forum today.

    I loved that performance. I loved Bono's gravitas and the "We're back!" In was so disappointed that they didn't capitalize on that momentum and excitement.

    Then again they blew my mind and made my year when they dropped the album the way they did.

    Cool cool cool.

    I'm also in the easy to please crowd (in part because last time I hated a U2 album it was in 1991 and I was proven so wrong that now I just trust in whatever they decide to release).

    I don't mind people disliking a song here and there, but I do find annoying people that seems to hate everything they have released since x year and that you know they'll hate whatever they'll release next, unless is on par with Achtung Baby, which we already know they won't, so why even bother pretend that maybe they'll like it.

  8. after reading through the initial reactions I thought I would hear a colossal train wreck. I was surprised by how much I liked the song. It is by no means perfect... but I have actually listened to this more than Blackout so far...
  9. Aaaanyway, I think people are doing some serious mental gymnastics with the "best thing that ever happened to (a) boy". My take is that Bono had the lyric "I'm the kind of trouble you enjoy" fixed on his mind and he just needed something to rhyme.

    For what it's worth, the song has really grown on me. It's still cheesy and corny, but it's catchy and fun.
    I don't like some of the rationale that the band went through to justify the delay of SOE only to bring another pop song, but that's another thing

    Hey man, A Man and a Woman is the song that made me a U2 fan. And I've had a good time with The Best Thing since the beginning, even when it was just the mediocre audio of the Kygo remix. I think this is a song for having fun.

    Reminds me of Wild Honey in a good way. I love Wild Honey, it always puts me in a good mood. This song gets close to that, but not quite.
