1. Sorry, that was meant to be in response to Greg's post about the song being stuck in people's heads. On mobile so this is a bit touch and go, sorry

  2. At least we Got our WiseMan that puts everything in it's right place

  3. There's no happier time than the time of new U2 song release. Next two and half months will be so fabulous.

Check it out) this forum has devolved into a pissing contest.

With all due respect, you're overreacting. I don't know what you were expecting to see here, maybe everyone repeating the same things, congratulating each other for being correct? People here have different opinions, what else can we do? It's not like people here are saying "U2 has been crap since 2000", which you can find all the time at atu2 or other forums. Even the people that didn't like the song here still enjoy current U2 and have an open mind about the next album, which can be great or not, and we will express our opinions, the good and bad.
This forum is still a great place to share opinions, have fun and, why not? see why other people think differently, as long as we keep it respectful and don't insult others.
There are people in other forums that really as a habit crap all over U2 since 2000 and still live in 1997, expecting AB 2. But in my time here I can tell you U2start is still the most open, respectful and positive (!) U2 fan site there is.

    Well said
  6. Still have it stuck in my head and keep listening to it. What a joyful song. Love Bono's quote on Fallon and in the NY Times article about the importance of "joy as an act of defiance" in a troubling world today.

Also, musically, the way Bono described the song in the Fallon interview as "punk rock meets Motown" and compared it to the Supremes makes a lot of sense. Even if some us aren't thrilled about the final mix itself, naming the musical influences like that I can totally understand what they were going for. And, of course, it still sounds like U2. Love it.

Spot on...the world (and these forums) would be a very boring place if everybody agreed on everything
  8. I have to say that The Best Thing has grown a lot on me. Its not their best single (still think Blackout would have been better), wont ever be in my top songs, but holds its own. And it seems to have generated positive buzz - it's # 1 on the Canadian and US iTunes charts ( Rock category). Really an incredible feat for a 40 year old band.

A good time to be a U2 fan. Bring on SOE.
  9. We can certainly all agree on that

Mission accomplished for them. I'm curious to see how many downloads it has..

different opinions are certainly not the problem, it only makes a forum more interesting. But sometimes the instant and also persistent negativity is a bit too much. In times of anticipation (of new tour or a new song/album) this is a really nice place, but then when the waiting is over the complaining is all over the place. Maybe we are just expecting too much and/or we are bored quite fast with new things and setlists.
