    Yes, I think the whole mastering/pressing/delivering process takes around 5-6 weeks for a worldwide release so mid-October is definitely the deadline to mess around with the songs before closing it...

    ...Assuming the Dec 1st. date is a physical release. If it's digital-only, with physical coming up later a la SOI, they'd have until mid-November.

    U2 barely needs marketing. Their fans will buy it, the rest will be word of mouth, that's that.

    The Killers put out three songs from their new album within pretty much a month I think, not that different.
