1. Maybe the whole album leaks soon...

I agree with this. Nothing was more awesome than being at work and seeing U2 ALBUM OUT NOW, after we had all been in the dark forever. We had NO idea what it would be called, if Invisible or Ordinary Love were on it, whatever. It was such a Blackout . Rushing home to listen to the whole thing in its entirety,
not knowing which songs U2 deemed the best ones (via singles) was refreshing.

    That's what I've been saying!

    exactly!
I remember this well: rushing home with Achtung Baby, locking myself in my room, and playing the album loud from A to Z, 3 or 4 times non-stop. I was blown away, cried, laughed, had major goosebumps and was very, very happy with this new work of art.

After Achtung Baby, this happened again only once with the same intensity, with the release of POP.

    those were the days....
  5. Some of the responses to this...

"The Smiths will leave a musical legacy far greater than U2."

Yeah you really know what you're talking about.
  6. The Smiths? Never heard of.
  7. There's nothing more frustrating than talking about U2 with an ignorant rock fan. You can tell when someone knows their music but also hates U2 when they can still respect their output enough to say "yeah, of course U2 is one of the great bands". Because it's true. There's no denying their influence, their output, their importance, their success, their ability to reinvent, to generate #1 hits, etc. Even if you hate their music, these things are all just facts on paper. Anyone who denies it is being a dumb prick.

And anyone who thinks the Smiths are better than U2 is a fucking joke. The Smiths might be the most overrated 80's band ever. All of their songs sound the same (except for How Soon is Now maybe) and Morrissey is a terrible singer who doesn't know how to musically phrase his lyrics with a melody. He has no rhythm.
