    Mysterious Ways - Repetitive
    TTTYAATW - Lyrics are not worth a shit
    Ultra Violet- Scatty song that doesn't make sense
    Acrobat - U2 that I love would never have sworn before!
    Love is Blindness - what a rubbish solo by the Edge!

    I agree as well. I've seen a huge difference in this forum in the past year even.
  3. Sorry to hear that all of you. Not much we can do I'm afraid, but in the end this is what forums are all about. If everyone was 100% positive there's not much to discuss anymore Plus its easier to be negative for people than positive I guess (or even "positively negative"). Anyways, let's not turn this thread into one where we complain about the complainers.

    Ontopic: this song is growing on me. Still not liking the chorus a lot but I really love the verses where Bono sings very fast. I wonder whether it will be slowed down a bit in a live setting. Thoughts?

    you got basically my initial thoughts on AB (except for Acrobat, that was a masterpiece since day 1 to me).

    I've said it before. Negative comments or critiques of songs are fine... I just have a problem with
    -constant mockery and bashing of a song. You didn't like it, fine, that's cool, you already said it... why say it every other post? why the overkill?
    -overall disappointment with a whole era, usually the most recent one. Most certainly you'll have a hard time in a forum like this, and you'll give a hard time to many people in here... why bother?

    But whatever... usually when I feel too much negativity I just stop posting for a couple of days and then it looks better when I come back so...

    I expect that it'll be more raw, Bono "screaming" more in the chorus... otherwise I think the GOOYOW line will be rather boring live...

    Remy, this forum has provided me with so much joy over past 10 years or so. No need to apologise as everyone is entitled to their opinions! I have to admit I don't like every single thing the band does but that's life. However most U2 songs take a while to digest/love/enjoy and wish the forum was generally more positive.

    Exactly, this post is ace. We are spoilt, our band writes new songs and puts out albums that are amazing, never been another band like them ever and there isn't another live act like them either.
  11. I don’t think the negativity has been that over the top to be honest. Looking back over the last few pages of this thread the worst comments are that the song is tame and soft hardly a horrible remark to make. I like the song so I’m not coming at this as someone who wants to post a negative point of view. I know on some of the threads the comments about the upcoming release of SOE aren’t exactly all favourable but there not all negative either, let people have a negative view and if you like the song voice a positive view I think that’s all that’s required.
  12. I've listened to it 65 times now and it's OK. Better than The Best Thing, but that's not difficult. American Soul is better than GOOYOW.
