Features may be expected, but it is at the point of self parody. Lil Wayne featuring Lil Ice, Lil Kim, Lil Flip Phone, Lil Ice Pick, G Money Dog, Lil Dope smoker, etc.
Clearly you don’t get it. ????

I'm not attacking the songs here or anything, just honestly curious.
Perhaps I'm misinterpreting your use of "fresh"?

I get what your saying, fresh meaning different I guess. Yes they have taken bits from other songs who hasn't. My point is this seems like an album that U2 is actively trying to follow the current music trends.
It's got poppy sounds but it's still got the old U2 we all know and love.

    Not sure.
Objectively, like you said, doesn't seem fresh but recicled.

Yet, I think -in my totally subjective opinion- that these songs don't sound "forced".
Boots and Joey sounded too much like same old U2 trying too hard to make it work, forcing themselves to try to sound pop, it sounded a bit tired.
But to me, Best Thing and Goo (and Blackout and AS) sound like they're playing them naturally, organically... Like they're creating pop tunes almost effortlessly, they sound... fresh.

Again, this is not something you can measure, so it's just my perception, but I do agree that they're sounding fresh to me.

  4. Is it going to be available in the Netherlands?
  5. I think the black vinyl editions are!

"Black vinyl editions will be available at all participating Record Store Day shops"

It's just the "750 colored vinyl editions" that will be available only in Nashville TN and Detroit MI + "one Irish and one British record store to be announced."

PS: let's continue in the Blackout thread

This is so right. I get where you are coming from Bloodraven.
  7. Why are we calling it Goo? ?
  8. It really pains me to say this as i have been a huge fan or over 30 yrs, but am i the only one out there who thinks the new material is utter crap. If this is the best they can produce to try and "stay relevent" then its time to quit while your ahead. They've had a good run at it but lets be honest their time is up now.

    lol
  10. Why judging now already? we have heard 5 of 16 songs of SOE. Have some trust.
  11. Fair point, but the album is only 13 the rest are just different versions of the main album tracks, so that makes almost half the album really poor. I really want to give this a chance, but so far this (for me) is not looking good.
