He sings on SOE like he has now found a comfortable happy medium for his voice, where he can sing without having to strain too much and can sail from each note quite effortlessly. It's the first time since ATYCLB where he sounds comfortable in his voice and is not trying really hard to hit every high note and belt it out. He sang a bit like this on Pop to be fair, but during the course of Popmart he tried once again to hit the high notes using his older improper technique, which with smoking like chimney on top, really led to some problems on quite a few shows. But by ATYCLB he realised his limitations and sang like a bird and that is why I really like that album.

You hear him singing Landlady and you can see his joy reciting those lines to Ali and then his voice brings redemption in Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way, anguish in Little Things, etc. It's like he's a method actor using only his voice. Amazing.

Chill out, I know Cesar understands it's just a joke![]()
Seriously, his voice isn't that powerful anymore for sure, but the maturity and rawness make way for a new kind of heartfelt stories.
