But seriously, who else is writing Little Things?

Forget it, I won't bring big guns...
...who is making something like The Best Thing About Me, and at the same time Love Is All We Have Left, and Lights of Home, and Red Flag Day in the same album?
Who has a Love is Bigger, or its little brother Get Out of Your Own Way?

Now, probably you don't like those songs, which is very valid, but who else is doing what they do with the same quality?
Beyonce is one example.I mentioned this is an earlier post, SOE reminds me of Lemonade where the album has a clear theme but each song sounds different. For her she basically did a different genre with each song. I really like that idea of making an album.

    1. What is it about?
    2. What makes it sound good?
  2. Damn this has turned into a place where you absolutely cannot express any dissatisfaction with anything u2 does without the usual people attacking your opinion. I haven’t listened to the album yet but definitely won’t be voicing my opinion here , good or bad. I don’t feel the need to argue my OPINION.

I've been saying this for months, there is a difference between voicing an opinion and crapping all over something. In my OPINION, with Internet culture in general, it seems like bashing something new is the thing to do. (Or old for that matter since SOI seems to be the bastard child to people nowadays when I do not believe that was the case up until very recently).

There are also people here, who despite jokingly poking fun seem like they don't like ANYTHING this band has done since they left Larry's kitchen. That bewilders me as to why you spend time in a place like this.

There are a lot of artists I like, (no one as much as U2) that I sort of fell out with. Most recently Bastille, I really liked their Bad Blood album but then couldn't get into the second one. That's OK and to me that means I'm not a fan of the band...I liked the sounds they went for and lyrics from one album.

Life is short...as SOE is saying, so why waste your time being so negative and bashing something in a small corner of the Internet? Does it get you off that good?

Sorry for the long post...just my OPINION.

I don’t feel the need to skip them now either which I was guilty of doing after my first run through. I was just really getting into the others but when you play it in its entirety it works. I also agree this album has more than proved u2 have still got what it takes to release great music . I’m in a position now where I can be honest and say following the songs we heard pre album I wasn’t worried about a bad album but a relatively average album however they’ve completely proved me wrong and I couldn’t be any happier about it.

    my fave tracks in order
1)Summer Of Love, Love the bass. the upbeat catchy feel.
    2) Book Of Your Heart. Love the guitar and Bono's DEEP vocal. amazing
    3) Little Things. Sad, emotional and deep lyrics, Edge at the end pulls it all togther
    4) Red Flag Day. Cool guitar. cool bass line. This is the type of song you jump around around with your partner or friend ect.
    5) lights Of Home. Great bass, and Edge solo, wish it was longer though.
    Equal 6.
Landlady, 13. Love Is All We Have Left.Simply great songs!
i'm trying to figure an order that would be good to listen to SFS and 13.

A Great album and the best one i've heard in a while. I know it's early days but if you ask me in a years time my mind will be saying the some thing. Best album since Achtung..well you could say Yes you could say No, i'm saying
Yes! at least the best album of the 2000's.

I love the album, but I understand someone doesn't and feels disappointed from the album he expected and wanted to be good... So why couldn't he write his opinion here? Or we should write only positive comments on the internet?

    Nobody's offending.

Also, just in case you haven't read my previous 43 posts: if you haven't listen to the album yet, DON'T but into all this hype. If you go into the album saying "ok, impress me", chances are you'll be disappointed. Just go with an open mind...
  7. chances are you'll be Happy.

So if I don’t like the album and I start to go into detail about why I don’t like it, it’s bashing and not just stating my opinion? I’m just trying to understand your point. To me you’re basically saying if don’t have something good to say, don’t say it at all.

You may have missed the post where this was said
‘if anyone else had released this album you guys wouldn't care that it was given a 2 or 3/5. it's honestly no better than that. even that's generous’

The first bit of that up until and including the 3/5 but is not an opinion but someone telling us how to feel or how we would feel. The next part is stated in a factual way but could be considered an opinion. You’re allowed to criticise the albums without criticising others for liking the album.

It seems this will just go around in circles. Forget it.
