EDIT: Gerrard crossed the ball, Kuyt tapped in. He later confirmed for Dutch television he indeed scored, although Clichy was close to it too (might have been an own-goal too)

    Definitely Kuyt

I'm back lol, couldn't stay away from the place whilst on the PC - 1-1, Arsenal took the lead through Adebayor, Gerrard equalised. Chelsea lost 2-1 to Fenerbahce!

EDIT - Casper, you sure Kuyt scored? The BBC website said it was Gerrard, but I didn't see lol.

As an American, it's very hard to stay up on what's going on in the EPL or any of the leagues over there for that matter....I'm not a HUGE fan, but I do really like Gerrard. Some of those youtube compilations of his are amazing.

He always keeps going...Kuyt's goal was 90% influenced by Gerrard. Some nice moves before crossing!
  6. To hell with the Premiership and European leagues! The Championship is where everything happens! lol...

Is that where everyone plays, all leagues? I saw ManU playing Roma yesterday here, but it could have been a repeat. They barely ever show anything on TV here....forgive my ignorance.

ManU v Roma must have been shown live there. It was only last night. It was a champions league game. The Champions league is a competition which is made up of the top 4 teams from each countries top league.

Nope, Harry means the lower English division (1st Division)..(might be mistaken though, never know the difference between those lower leagues). ManUtd - Roma is Champions League, same as Arsenal this eve. Clash of the champions, played trough a groupstage before getting into knock-out. ManUtd really are in top-form these days.

EDIT: Gerard is better in summarising things
  11. Thanks to both of you!

Is ManU still kind of looked down for bringing in a bunch of all-stars and buying championships, or was that a thing of the past? Or was it Chelsea that did that?

Chelsea did, although they never won the Champions League since the money came. They're still in this year though. ManUtd won the English title last year and probably this year too. They have the best team, I think. That oldie Ferguson really knows how to manage a team.

Also, ManUtd is owned by two Americans. Most English clubs are taken-over by Multinationals. If one starts, the rest will follow. Football is more about money these days than the sport itself.
